1970 Plymouth Cuda Exhaust Black Widow

A full custom exhaust we did on a 70 cuda with a 340. We connected to the existing long tube headers, and ran 2.5 tubing, with a balance tube and black widow venom 250 mufflers. Exiting with the factory style cuda tips.
The 340 has a really big cam and the black widow's make that cam really stand out. Black Widow's have a really good sound on older cars/trucks. With straight through performance, and less drone inside than other muffler styles, these are a win/win!
Our systems are custom fabricated in house and require the vehicle for fitment. We cannot ship systems out.

That sounds like a huge cam (solid lifter?) and higher than stock compression -- beautiful! My 340 Dart sounds quite tame by comparison.

What a great rumble, sounds more like a big block...I had a 70 BB w/727 auto and 3:55’s bored and stroked it had roller cam roller rockers 10:1 compression sounded just like that .....I loved that car unfortunately it was stolen in 2016

These sound good at idle but not so good when the engine is rev’d up. I personally like the spin techs prostreet 9000’s way better

Anybody know the cam specs and compression ratio of the 340 in that Cuda? The cam and compression are a big part of what sound the mufflers make in cars with different engine mods.

I envy you that CUDA sounds awesome I wish I had one I used to have a 1973 Dodge Challenger and a 1969 Roadrunner pistol grub 4 speed. Those were the days I sold them both to get married to my wife 25 years ago. So know I want to trade my 1986 convertible corvette pace car and a 1999 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4. Only 274 were sent to America and bought a lot of people would want it no matter the price. I’m sure there is less than 2 in every state. I’m never going to sell it I will trade them for a runner 440 big block pistol grip 4speed 1970-1973 Plymouth CUDA. Thank you for reading. Godspeed

The back of a 70 Cuda should always be high and proud. The minute i jacked the back end of mine 30 years ago with Wide tires was the day I was convinced nothing looked better in the rear. Don't drop your rears Cuda Owners. Car was designed in Drag Racing style funny-car mentality. It is not a sports car.

Question. If th H pipe is more of a V, like a curved H pipe. Can that change the sound? I have the exact set up on my mustang but mine sounds different.

I wouldn't think it would change the sound enough to be noticeable. The H is primarily there for equalization. There is no scavenging being applied from an H. Although tone wise, the cut of the hole may cause a sound differentiation if roughly cut. Hope that helps some

I agree. Motor sounds wonderful but those mufflers suck. I think a set of spintech mufflers would sound incredible on this car
