This popped up in my feed. Thanks for showcasing our work! I was a technical artist/programmer on the project up till about 2 years ago for the purpose of learning Unreal Engine. I learned a lot. I knew nothing when I started. its nice to see they've made good progress. The hallway assets are new and the spider robot and final boss are functional now. Kattelox is new. If your interested in my contributions I made everything having to do with Zenny. I rewrote Megaman from the ground up. When I entered the project Megaman had many game breaking bugs and animation issues. rewriting his code and animation blending and introducting IK for his feet so they're level with the ground and improving his overall game feel. Implementing New systems like his Dodge roll and hanging/shimmy. Which btw I didn't see you use the dodge roll xD. I think it tells you about it in the tutorial text box. Very useful for the aggressive melee the Zakobon robots have! I've since moved on but I still keep in touch with DamnedNForsaken and help out whenever I can. Cheers

When you work for a company there is what is called creativity block, that is, the company tries to follow the standards from an administrative point of view and they never think about what the public really wants, that is, they look for what they like but they do not ask the people. Children and young people, what type of game would they like?

Legends series doesn't even have an anniversary collection despite having 2.5 titles under their belt (counting Tron Bonne game as the 0.5). And you know what they say, if a company claims a fan creation as their own, then it must be canon. In this case, Capcom claiming this fan remake would mean they are about to release their own remake/remaster.

@@Wslasher If we receive a C&D, honestly, I'll just take it as a badge of honor and hope we don't get fined. We don't make any money from this project. In fact we've spent money. Everything related to this specific project has been and will be released for free for other devs to play with and make their own content. Games or otherwise. Only fundraising being done is for future titles and the brand Tugboat Games, which I'm hoping to turn into a 'real' thing someday. A guy can dream right. Those funds are towards an original IP I am developing outside MMLX. I'm also making digital art tutorials. So there's that. It's a shame Capcom doesn't want to revisit this franchise in a modern context. I think it would sell well if they put real talent behind it, and didn't destroy the tropes and fun the original story had. (As we continue to see Hollywood do over and over again). The perfect MML remake in my view would be MM1+2+3, all placed into one game. Either as Season Pass episodes or as one stand alone experience. The game world would be open and you'd be able to use the Flutter to travel to places in real-time, much like wind waker. I'd love to see 5 islands make it in there too.

Looks like you got it sorted with the controller issues. I'm glad to see this playthrough. Thanks for checking it out. If you have any specific feedback I'd love to hear it. It's nice to see the game running on a better computer. Not sure what your FPS was when you played, but it def looks more consistent and better performing than my old potato.

I just bought an X-Box controller cuz my Switch Pro Con was drifting so 2 birds 1 stone. So far the regular reaverbot AI seems too aggressive. It always goes to my point of being knocked down which in turn gets be knocked down again until I die. And as you can see in my gameplay, I couldn't make both elevator switches to work but that's more of a debugging issue. Overall I like the updated graphics & additional features you'd added. Great job & hope to see more from this in the future.

@@Wslasher That's great to hear. One thing I think we could do to balance that Zakobon aggression is to allow for some kind of close counter-move to push them away. We definitely need to explore this in the future. Also we need to take a look at adjusting collision and other things present in your playthrough.

@@JJChalupnik There was also this instance where I couldn't move forward or backward until I did an evade roll. Dunno what happened or what triggered it though, I was just locking on some Reaverbots & it just happened.

I was expecting those asset flip UE4 remakes. I wasn't expecting to see the entire island re-imagined like that. I just think there shouldn't be any music outside of the cities, just the ambient forest sounds from the original . Fuck me, man, i wish capcom would actually hire this dude and polish this hard.

I feel like Legends would do really really well nowadays if it got remade, the main problem with the original game were the weird controls but apart from that it was a really solid game with a good story, rpg elements, good level design and entertaining combat. Give it some modern controls like the ones seen here and i'm sure it could revitalize Mega Man since gamers love this RPG freeroaming open world formula nowadays.

Man, the level design is perfect, incredible, the graphics in general are very well done, I just think the character's face could be improved, make him in the Megaman Legends 2 style, and of course, work on the cutscenes, congratulations on the excellent work ❤

I am absolutely impressed by the love and dedication put into this. The only light criticisms I have are that the textures in the environment are too realistic and don't fit with aesthetic Volnutt's model and aren't in line with the original games art style like he is. Using a more cell shaded appearance would go a long way to making this even more of a masterpiece than it is shaping up to be.

I love that this is more than just a visual update and love the gameplay improvements you made! The logic for some of those enemies could definitely use some tweaking, though, so they're not constantly on top of MegaMan. I'd even consider making MegaMan's shots push them back a little, especially the charged shot!

Dude it's a fan remake, don't think Tugboat Games have time to optimize it too have 2D style like ASW does.

The characters are cell shaded, the environment is not currently. Theres actually a lot under the hood that GGX and Dragon ball fighter Z does that involves a tremendous amount of research and development. As much as I'd love to take it to that level, we are more focused on a look similar to Ni No Kuni or the earlier dragon age games. I agree though GGX and DBFZ has the best 3D cel-shading I've personally ever seen.

Looks great. The fall animation could be sped up a bit for sure. Maybe add a bit of ML3's quick fire while moving backwards to make it less clunky. Some stuff in the series are worth changing Id think

I love that the Doll bots are a lot more aggressive in this game. I'm not a huge fan of the charge bolt stopping you in your tracks though. All in all, looks fantastic. You might also think about adding some Sweeping attacks to the Boss. That'd be pretty sick.

what they've done is impressive... but the visual clash between Megaman's Art Style and the art style of everything else is kinda jarring. Megaman looks good, meanwhile almost everything else looks way too realistic or detailed. Also, the boxes breaking into bits that stay there rather than quickly fading out makes for a lot of visual noise. The original Legends games are honestly my favorite Megaman games, and they had a really nice cel shaded art style to everything, even the more grimy textures still fit the style in the original games. For the art style, Megaman here has the cel shaded look, but updated, the reverbots look to be halfway between cel shaded and realistic, and the environments look to be realistic more than anything, the visual clash just creates a lot of noise that makes things look lower effort than it actually took. One of the most important things with game art is consistency between the elements.

Holy shit, you added the camera to the right stick? I don't know how I played through these games as a kid, I went back a few years ago and just couldn't readjust to the controls. I'm still shocked there was a time that having camera control relegated to the shoulder buttons was a thing, feels so clunky.

Phenomenal work. I still play the original Legends, it's my favorite Megaman series. It's clear how much effort has been put into this. As others have said, I like that the reaverbots are a lot more persistent and aggressive. It does seem like their speed is ramped up just a little too high though. As soon as it catches up you don't seem to have any chance of getting away again, they knock you down, sit on you until you get up and are too fast to retreat from. Otherwise a great project I'm excited to hopefully see completed one day

We never stopped working on it actually. We kept making improvements and it forced us to kick the can down the road on new public build releases. Id love to work on it full time so production goes faster but I think that's just the reality of balancing family, work, and life stuff with a project like this in your spare time.

Like any fan game it will consist of 1 to 2 levels of content and end there. Not disrepecting the effort just saying if a fan game were allowed to take off the ground the fan base would change their expectation and it would destroy the brain washing of not having expectation and no company wants their hard work erased and all those profits to go away under an individual expectation outside of where they want their minimal effort to land.

It's harder than it looks. The AI auto moves in your exact location at blazing speed that you can't react fast enough before your invulnerability wears off.
