Cat, I just marvel at your artwork. This is page is so wonderfully alive and dimensional, the shading is perfect. As I watched each element develop, detail by delicate detail, and then the finished page, I had to remember this delightful scene lives on just 6x6 inches of space and is tucked inside a check book register! The whole idea just made me smile in wonder. 🥰

I cant believe it. About 4 years ago, a crafter suggested using turtle wax over our art work to prevent stickiness. I've been afraid to try it. After watching your video, I'm no longer apprehensive and will test it out tomorrow. Love your work!

cat hand. Hi, petroleum jelly (vaseline) I use to seal my art work, it's cheap & just as effective as the other expensive brands! Good art work tutorials from you. xx

Does the vaseline not stay stickey or greasy after you put it on?

Thanks, Jennifer - I’m not sure Vaseline would be the right product to seal watercolor because of the oil content. My preference is to use the product that is specifically made for art work, so I don’t risk ruining my work. 😊 Thanks for watching! 😊

From the thumbnail all I could read was the "DOn't quIT" part, loved that so I grabbed a small mini accordion sketchbook I made out of a single piece of scrapbook paper. It had a brick wall of white bricks. I just used that as my background for the flowers in colored pencil and the quote. I get almost done and realize there is another Einstein quote above it. Oh well, I missed that part. I had a turtle sticker that said Slow and steady, a tortoise really. And another sticker of a home. I want to buy my own home. So I put the home sticker in front of the tortoise so she's going towards it. Thanks!! Scrapbook paper is too thin for watercolor of any strength. I can use both sides of this accordion though, so maybe I'll glue thicker paper to the other plain white side for other pages. I've got cardstock in many colors, I think I need glue though.

Really enjoyed this page, humorous and poignant at the same time! Always love your videos, and thanks for the reminder to use cold wax on any finished pages. I find that pages can remain tacky and stick together well after they are dry, the wax really helps but I forget to use it!💕💕
