Wow, Emma! A lot of people have tried to explain these two words, but none have done it as simply and as masterfully as you have! Actually, I've been trying to get a handle on them for a long time and I more or less knew the difference, but, thanks to you, from now on I can use them with more confidence. So really, thanks to you!

my rule to help me remember the meaning of these two words is 'a comes before e in the alphabet' which helps me remember 'affect' as the potential action word and comes first, and 'effect' comes after, as a result of the 'action.'

Remember, adverbs come before verbs in English. It's similar to how adjectives come before nouns, which may help you remember. So it would be, "considerably affect"... Alternatively, if you'd like, putting the adverb after the noun that the verb is attached to - like "affect my learning process considerably" - is also acceptable. :} Keep up the hard work; you're doing great! Good luck!

QUESTION. QUESTION: I was quite pleased to see you acknowledge that "effect" can also serve as a verb, when it is not merely influencing an activity, but actually causing an activity. For example, "The prompt payment of the required bail effected the prisoners immediate release." But I was astonished when you stated that "affect" can sometimes serve as a noun. I have never heard such a claim. I eagerly awaited an example, but none was given. Could you please resolve this confusion? Thank you.
