I own a 2013 X758. Bought it new and now has over 400 hours on it. Great tractor, never had a problem with it. Keep the fluids changed and grease it up every once and a while and it’ll last decades.

I just got my x758 this spring. LOVE it. Watching your videos has been enjoyable for me, in that I get to see another person’s perspective on the machine. You have a great shop set up by the way!

Looking forward to the hydro fluid change and the front pto install videos. Thank you for your efforts. Also I got a 54"blower with my X738 and anxious to see how it does this winter without the tire chains scuffing up my asphalt driveway. I heard on these 4x4 machines with HDAP tires chains are not needed nor recommended. Please update on your findings as well.

I use the rubber TerraGrips on mine. Keeps the driveway from getting chewed up. They work great in snow, but not as good as metal chains on glare ice.

I have a 2019 John Deere x580 I had a John Deere gt275 the gt275 has more grease fittings then the x580 I like grease fittings myself also cuz I am truly one that takes care of maintenance on the gt275 I know how many hours a week I used it I bought it used in the year 2000 and I have well over 10,000 hours seals gaskets even the hydrostatic transmission needs seals and gaskets before I had to park it did not burn one bit of oil that's what maintenance does for you prolongs the use of the machine I like watching these type of videos we should have a John Deere Green club

I think eventually I'll switch to something like this. I want a 4x4 lawn tractor that's still small enough to fit through my basement doors (I currently have a Z960M with a 60" 7 Iron deck that fits fine). My issue with the zero turn is how it loses traction on hills as soon as you start to turn (the inside wheel that's uphill will lose tractor and slide) and it really tears of the grass and of course if you're near anything you don't want to hit, you have to be really careful. I think a tractor style mower will make more sense in my situation. It will also be nice to have the option to attach a snow blower instead of using my walk behind snow blower. I also have a JD 4120 compact tractor, but that's way too big and heavy to use on the concrete driveway because it slides too easily. A smaller machine that's also 4x4 will be a lot easier and safer and in general, more comfortable to use overall (and also more useful for pulling things). For what I want, it's going to cost around $17k just for the tractor and 60" deck. That's the downside. I'd probably be lucky to get $6k or so trade for my Z960M (which retailed for $12k in 2016).

Had a similar tractor to this do not know the model 18 years ran strong then got another similar model 23 years old still runs great. I’m going to order this one next week zero problems with all of them but no resale value. What do you do with all of those mowers? Do you have a golf course or what? Thanks for the video

3:10 I know what you mean. I sat on a new zero turn with a suspension seat and what I can only assume to be memory foam. It was like magic when I first sat on it compared to my jd d120.

I never realized the differences in the seat until I installed the SE seat on my X748. Night and day difference.

I see a JD455 in the background. How would you compare the two? Is there any compelling advantage of the 758 over the 455 assuming 4WD is not needed.

Couldn't agree with you more. My 1025r has the same tie rods and steering system, or close to. I cant stand that you cant grease em. My 1974 140 has more grease fittings literally ever inch. Great video!!

Some manufactures want to make there machines more maintenance free. Others also assume that owners may not grease properly or often enough and to avoid warranty issues they just remove stuff like that.

I just ordered one, should be here in about 6 weeks. Question on the click & go bracket. Can it be installed with 3 point? I'd like a bagger and spreader, but also to use 3 point stuff. wonder how much hassle it will be to switch between the two. I know the bagger will probably require removal of the 3 point arms.

I won't pick on ya brother! But, I agree that for a pricey mean green machine should have a better SEAT! I'm defnot happy about the price increases on attachments either! I think its a total ripoff to the consumer to have inflation because of the covid-19 excuses! Thanks for all you do!

My wife loves the seat so I really can't complain too much but yes, something like the Milsco seat on the X748 would be great.

Would this be a good replacment for a 425? Plan on mowing and plowing snow
@mmrbeef

It would be a great replacement. The AWD means you might not even need weights. You can keep your old blade and quick hitch.

There are a lot of small differences between the newer X series and the older 4-5 units. The 4-5 series was a big step up in operator comfort from the older 300/400 series, the X series was a step up again in comfort (not as large).

It’s quite a step up from the 425. I had two of them and loved them. Stepping up to this model surprised me how much nicer they are and the diesel is amazingly powerful. It throws snow like fifty feet!

I don’t see a roll bar with your X758. Did you order it that way, or did you remove it? Thanks
@mmrbeef
@mmrbeef 3 жыл бұрын
No OEM ROPS or roll bars are on the X7-- in the US. Roll bars have been added to machines and some European models have the appropriate safety structures for the regulations.

@@mmrbeef ok, I didn't know that. Thanks. I have a 2012 model X748 that I bought used. I really like it. I use it mainly to mow, much of the mowing is in an orchard. I thought that buying something new would require me to have an ROPS. thanks for clearing that up. I enjoy your videos very much.

Good video, my x758 is the same age and hours as yours. I agree about the seat, it's really no better then my much cheaper x320. All the holes in the deck irk me, it's like swiss cheese and are future rust points no idea why they do that. And i'm not a fan of the hydraulic deck lift, manual lift is way better. But it's a great machine, there's a lot to like about it.

by doing that you are wearing your clutch every time the clutch gets wear
@mmrbeef

Could you provide me some context for your comment? Generally every time the clutch starts up there will be wear but I am not sure what you are referring to “by doing that you are wearing your clutch every time the clutch gets wear”
@wicksfarm4895
@wicksfarm4895 Жыл бұрын
@@mmrbeef Every time you turn your PTO on you are wearing the clutch,1, the more you turn it on the more your wearing it 2 turning the clutch at high rpm put an extra strain on your clutch, every piece of equipment equipped with a PTO your suppose to bring the rpm to the lowest possible so you give a chance to your drive train to start to turn. For example, if you have a car or truck with a manual transmission you put it in gear and slowly let go of the clutch not to burn rubber and brake something in the drive line, I have heavy equipment, a heavy truck, and a farm tractor 285hp tractor and when I am hooking up to a bailer harvester I don’t rev up the engine and then engage the PTO I bring the engine to the lowest rpm and the I engage the PTO and then I rev up the engine, my son lives in a subdivision near the village and his neighbor has a little john deere purchases at home depo and the first year they had to put a clutch in for the PTO any way long story short they were cutting grass and would turn off the mower deck so they would do to much dust and turn it back on at full throttle they premature wear the clutch and JD would oner their warranty on the ground it was driver abuse
