Made this video several years ago..... Comparing the Redlandhill and the OEM three point. This would be the same for a 322, 330, 332, 420, and 430.

That Redland 3pt looks like a real contraption. Had my Ruegg hitch for about 10 years and it works great.

Yes, it is a unique item. Can't remember exactly what I mentioned in the video but I always had problems with it sagging. I have heard many mant good things about Ruegg.

I owned a Redland hill 3pt hitch and had it on my 318. It failed constantly. The Ruegg or OEM is significantly better. The Redland is an attachment to the rocker arm and all weight bearing is on the two end bolts...and they sheer all the time. The Ruegg or OEM has the welded brackets on the rocker arm and it is much, much stronger. Huge difference. I have a Cat 0 box blade and the Redland hill was constantly failing with sheered bolts. For really, really light use it is fine...but for the same money you can get a Ruegg and it is the carbon copy of the JD OEM and you'll be much happier. The Redland folks are very nice and helpful...it is just an inferior product.

I’m not sure if I understand correctly. With the configuration of the rock shaft tied into the implement lift assembly ahead of it, does that mean that when you raise or lower your plow on your three point hitch, (just using a moldboard plow for example), that your mower deck would also be moving in relation to your three point hitch?
@mmrbeef5 жыл бұрын
You are correct. In the stock configuration the mower deck is tied to the three point.
@brianpatrick87875 жыл бұрын
Some decks have transport locks to lock the decks in up position. There is no down pressure on the deck it floats. So if the deck is locked the lift arms still can move.

Hello. I have John deere 185 hydro and is it possible to install the pump and rear hydraulics?
@gherbertd6 жыл бұрын
I've owned and run the redlandhill for a couple years under light duty; it has performed decently. However installation required significant modifications not described in their materials, best example: top link bracket bottoms out on body panel; much of the fasteners-hardware included were extremely light/low quality, and customer service was lousy to say the least.

Am I seeing modified Tail lights on your JD?? I am considering the same, as I have already changed my headlight lamps to LEDs with a world of difference. I purchased LED bulbs for the tail lights, but have not put them in yet. Considering another LED light altogether. You might have helped my search. I have a JD 445.
@mmrbeef8 жыл бұрын
The tail lights are stock on that machine. I have a set of tractorLEDS for the headlights that I think work great. Good luck with your search!

I'll tell you what I'm going to do a video on my 445 as soon as I get it finished but I've changed actually trim the metal deck out cuz I was sick of the stupid things getting it and the tail lights falling out on them all the time. I've had it all rhe powder coated and what I did is I went to Peterbilt and got a little rectangular turn signal flasher light tomorrow in there that looks really cool. If anybody has a 3 point hitch video I am stuck on my 445 Factory 3 point hitch on how to hook up the cylinder I'm apparently missing something and I don't know what. I wish someone would make a video on KZbin about the actual lift cylinder and detailed video of how it goes together if anybody's got that I would appreciate it

Will the end on the 318 fit my 420. I also could use a picture of the Honda gx670 24hp throttle linkage from carb to governor connection. I want to get a 3 point or the one shown on your post.
@mmrbeef5 жыл бұрын
Are you wondering about the rear end? Yes, a 318 differential will fit in a 420 but you will loose the diff lock and 2 speed functions. You will also need to move the axles over from the 420 since the 420/430 axles are longer than the 300 series axles. I'm not any help on the throttle linkages, sorry

What 3point should I get a CAT 1 or CAT 0 hitch?
@mmrbeef20 күн бұрын
For a 318 I would recommend a Cat 0. The Cat 1 implements out there, while nice, are too big for the 318 in most cases.
@robertduncan27425 жыл бұрын
On the fuel tank are theres pickups on both lines with filters, mines only working on reserve. I have the wrong plow that's 13 1/2 wide on all 4 points that wont fit my 420 so I'll need to move that

I see you and others say you prefer the factory or reugg over the redlandhill/neatfarm, because of the rockshaft assembly. But no one says WHY that is better. Care to educate me?
@mmrbeef5 жыл бұрын
That's a great point. First the redlandhill hitch sags when you put a load on it. In some testing I did the sag was up to 3 inches. Most of the sag was in the twist of the rock shaft mount. Second is the assembly for the draft arms is too far behind the tractor which limits the lift capacity. Those are at least my reasons specifically for the rock shaft.
@jhurley125 жыл бұрын
mmrbeef Ok i can envision that with the rockshaft twist. By draft arm assembly, are you referring to where it mounts to the tractor axle, or where the draft arms meet the lift links? I would think that the lift links being further from the tractor would make it easier for the cylinder to lift the weight. But thats just a guess because i am shopping my first 3 point. It will be mainly used for 4-500lb loads at max (carryall/forks) and a hitch for ballast for the snow blower. Its for my 420. Im really up in the air about going all out with cat 1 reugg, or neatfarm/redlandhill cat 0. Im aware of most things being made for cat 1. I can fabricate, but would like your input. Dont mind saving money if im not going to need cat1. Thanks
@mmrbeef5 жыл бұрын
The last time I checked the Redlandhill hitch was $100 more than the Ruegg hitch. But that might have changed since they changed names.... Which (only a guess) the name change was driven by some of the bad reviews of their hitch. I can honestly say I was unbiased in my review. My Redlandhill hitch came new in a box with a 318 I bought (for cheap), I didn't even know what it was when I bought it. I sill have my 318 and it has an OEM 3pt on it... Sold the Redlandhill hitch about 4 years ago. As for cat 1 vs cat 0... It's easier to find and modify cat 1 equipment than cat 0 equipment. If you cal and speak to Bill Reugg I have heard that you might be able to swap draft arms and have the ability to install both Cat 0 and Cat 1 arms.
@jhurley125 жыл бұрын
mmrbeef a little research has shown that redlandhill link directs you to the neatfarm site for their hitch, so i assume it is a rename due to those reasons. But you have directed me to lean towards the reugg cat 1 unit. I dont want any hassle. We all know time is money, and i prefer not to waste time. Thanks for the info and your videos.

@@robellenberger6816 how big is your garden? moldboard plow and disc are the cheapest options of about $500 combined brinly moldboard plows, and a new disc from northerntool which is nortrak i believe? or disc from motoalliance which is cat-0 by default but is also mid grade soft steel and just slightly less desirable gauge than hardly brinly stuff and far superior to anything agrifab makes.
