Even though Dana never appeared in the cartoon, (Which I do think she would've been an interesting character) at least she didn't become a nicey nice love interest by the fun police! It was bad enough for that the majority of the cast were watered down versions of their former selves! Poor Janine had to suffer the curse of rounded glasses blandine! Damn it Q5!!!

Ray's face isn't just exaggerated, it makes it look like his whole head has been squashed. I wonder if that was intentional, a cheap way to make the figure appear a bit shorter without actually having to cast a shorter body. That would fit with them not giving him a pudgier gut as well.

This has nothing to do with Ghostbusters but I watched another Beauty and the Beast version that you have yet to see Phelous! Have you ever heard of The Tale of the Crimson Flower? It's an episode off of a 1998 series called Stories From My Childhood. It's def. better than GoodTimes in many respects, but still carries some echoes of it. Also I swear the story has a go at Disney when the Beast (who remains nameless) says "I invite you here not as my guest, but as my equal." And though I want you to watch and find out who it is yourself, the voice of the Beast will REALLY surprise you. But believe me, his voice is the most intimidating thing about him, not much else I'm afraid. Though he is very emotionally manipulative when it comes to the Beauty, whose name is Anastasia. If you want to find out more, I'll send you the link, because I really want you to see and have fun with this story!

The tip of the weapon is submerged for 3 to 5 seconds in boiled water and when removed it straightens very easily. Anyway it is very frustrating to find a piece like this especially if someone thought to collect the figures in packaging.

I mean, I'd buy the Peter and/or the Egon, but those kind of large scale 30 dollar action figures are fragile and I wouldn't have a good enough place to put them to warrant that price. I just hope this is a message to Sony that The Real Ghostbusters cartoon does have a big enough fanbase to exploit for merchandising. Other than the years old, long sold out Minimates, those even older Mego style toys, and impossible to find Playmobile sets, you just can't find cartoon specific Ghostbusters merchandise out there.

The issues I have with this are usually washed away when I think "Well...these were £25 each. And they're damn good for £25, I think" I mean, I had to get these since when I think Ghostbusters, I think the cartoon. None of the other Diamond Select Ghostbusters interested me. I do think it's a shame they didn't change Ray's body mould, but these things are made on a budget. They simply took the existing moulds from the movie figures and recoloured them. I imagine the Real Ghostbusters line is the one that'll sell the least, so sacrifices must be made. I'm happy we got what we got with them and, odd Ray face aside (he looks okay in profile), I love all the ones I have.

O_O I was hoping to seeing Oscar (the baby from GB2) all grown up and continuing his fathers' legacy of being a Ghostbuster. I've completed the first movie line of diamond select figures however every single one of the boys has broken. They are more fragile than the original kenner line. Streams broke and the cables connecting gun to pack fell apart. Disappointing. Great video tho.

I really love how you criticize the later episodes for changing Rays' chubby look. I always felt that such alterations gave kids the wrong impression about valuing ones appearances rather than personality, than again it seemed that the Q5 creators gave two fucks about the real Ghostbusters' personality, since they butchered the personalities of Peter and Jenine. :/ The dramatic weight loss encouraged kids that "Eating Disorders are the best!" Also Rays' chubbiness isn't unhealthy at all. It gave him a softer demeanor to him compare to the leaner more angular characters. It made him unique and was opposite to Peters' macho persona. After the make over though they made him just another white guy since they even took away his gentle persona and gave it to Peter... especially with regards to Slimmer. I really hated the whole thing of blurring Ray out. To me, Ghostbusters will always be a team of four individuals with an occasional fifth and sixth person from time to time. It is an old classic format really... no different to the original Musketeers (Athos, Porthos, Aramis and D'Artagnan).

That's pretty much been my experience when buying any Diamond Select figure. They tend to have strange QC issues and stiff or limited articulation. I feel like for the price they could do better. Certainly not "diamond" quality, but they'll do in cases where nothing else is available.
