After 2019 Messi had dropped in goal contributions per game as he was playing more in the middle, but started to win big international trophies where he broke the game. Lewandowski in 2020 and Benzema in 2022 had two years between the international trophies, and Messi two, 2021 for stats and Copa America and now 2022-23 for stats and World Cup. So if the Balon d'or will be fair, Messi would have 13 in October, Kaka 1, CR 7 1, Lewandowski 1 and Benzema 1. With CR 7 taking 8 or 9 silver 🥈.
