Even though the Niners lost this game in the closing seconds of the game, this was after the infamous, "I want winners!", speech, which was proceeded by a bye week. This game showed a 180 that the Niners were starting to figure it out with their interim coach, who then became their permanent coach for the next 2 seasons, even though they still fell short. This game, and for the next two years, set up for Coach Harbaugh to come in, with the template already in place, to be able to, "coach them up". If anything, Coach Singletary brought toughness, and physicality out of these men. Coach Singletary to Harbaugh, reminds me so much of the move the Warriors made from Mark Jackson to Steve Kerr.
