@@AgriLifeIreland Number 1 reason, too dangerous, they might cut off a hand or a foot and grandma or their best friend or some freak on CNN or MSNBC says it it too dangerous. Reason number 2, they are scheduled for so many activities ranging from soccer to after school tutoring to piano lessons, that the kid doesn't get home until after dark after getting fed dinner at one of 2 dozen fast food restaurants on the way home. Starting at the age of 10 or 11 people are already thinking about their kids "college resume". Things people start worrying about having for the college resume includes: the millions of activities the kid was involved in, what classes you took, your GPA, all your test scores, and all the volunteering you have done. The volunteering situation is a racket. You can "win" awards based upon the number of hours you volunteer. And by the way, 99% of the time, the kid needs to be with a parent when you volunteer so they get free labor from 2 people.

Don't know if it's possible, but if you put thick rubber mats with chains on underneath the dryer, you can pull them out, flip them on a good spot and scoop stuff up with the skidsteer. Saves you probably a day of shoveling

I raised a couple of ‘femme fatales’ like the Johnson girls. They weren’t raised on a farm like I was, but I did expose them to picking and hauling rocks with a backhoe-front end loader on our twenty acre rural homestead. One’s a 57 yo RN and her 55 yo R Ph sister have both done alright ❤️. Cheers for all three of the Johnson kids. They’ve experienced and learned the rural work ethic.

Could you get a metal worker to come out and build something under the grain dryer so the dust doesn't settle right below the dryer but on the sides.... like a mini roof that would shed the dust to either one side or both sides? It might help with the amount of time for cleanup. Thinking out loud.

Three Generations working in the fields together. Awesome. Zack, under the grain dryer, where you always have to crawl under to clean. Put some angled flashing underneath the support legs. Still have to clean it up, but saves the back breaking work (or child laborer) to get under it.

Nice video, thanks for sharing. Saw on KZbin a new product, a shield that covers a wheelbarrow that has a shop vac built into it. By setting it on top of a wheelbarrow it turns the wheelbarrow into an extra large shop vac. Wondering if you might build a similar top for the bucket on the skid steer for cleaning under the dryer. Might have to add an inverter to the skid steer to power the shop vac.
