Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture. With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

I'm 87 years old and growing up as a kid when a farmer broke a leg or had a serious illness all of the farmers in the neighborhood pitched in to help. The farms we smaller anywhere from 100 acres to 300 so there were a lot of farmers in the area. It's great to see a modern day version of that. You are a good man Zac Johnson and I always enjoy your videos.

Can you imagine the relief that is felt when a farmer gets his crop either planted or harvested. I remember how frazzled Zach seemed with a single down shed last year, not to mention a total farm loss. What Farm Rescue and those dealers do for the farmer is beyond measure the greatest example of community you will ever see!!!

So glad everyone was safe and took the proper precautions I am now 54 years old and live in the mid northern Indiana region, back in the big tornado outbreak of 1974, our house took a direct hit from an F5 tornado, i was 5 years old, we did not have a basement and I was literally sucked up into it when our house exploded. Thankfully from neighbors, I was found about 300 yards out in the middle of one of our corn fields and taken to a hospital about an hour away and remained in a coma for 3 days. Thank you to all who come together for families in need.

As an ex farmer, there are times when things go wrong that are well and truely outside your control. To have someone come in and help shoulder the load, to enable you to keep going through one of Life's speed bumps is enormous. To those who help out, you may never fully realise what it means to the families or individuals you help, sometimes it goes beyond words. A heartfelt thank you to one and all, and to you as well Zack for bringing this situation to the public.

Wow Farm Rescue to the Rescue!! I'm not a farmer but have family members that farm in southern Illinois. The Farmers in this country are some of the toughest in the world. I don't think people realize just how much farmers do for this country besides feed people. If it were not for the farmers this country would fall flat on its butt, So Thank you for all that you do. And Zach aka Millennial farmer keep doing what you do bud, These kind of stories need to be told more often to get the help to these farmers. So again from my family to all farmers, A huge thanks. as a kid I always thought that farmers in the tornado belt of the US were absolutely crazy, But I realized they are just driven to provide for others!

Thank you, Zach, for making the trip, for being there, for being a part of Farm Rescue, for caring and doing all that you do. We watched you lose a grain bin, shed and some equipment and like so many people in farm country you picked up and kept on going. Thank you for the perspective that is SO familiar in farm country...neighbor helps neighbor no matter what! Farm Resuce helping 1,000 farms in 18 years demonstrates the great need. This episode was deeply moving and satisfying. I LOVED that no one was talking about FEMA and government intervention...it was farmer touching farmer ane solving a problem. This is how we eat and we MUST not take it for granted!

As strange as it seems for a city boy, this has become one of my favorite channels. Much respect to Zach and ngl, my favorite farmer in training, Onyx.

Pretty soon he's going to have to come up with a symbol that means the actor formerly known as the millennial farmer maybe when he hits 2.5 mil or when the millennial farmers kids have a channel that matches his would that be gen x or gen y farmers

Zach, thank you for being there for your distanced neighbors and fellow farmers. Your channel is wonderful to watch. I grow up on a small farm in East Tennessee, mostly tobacco, and corn (silage), but miss it greatly. Thank you!

Major goosebumps when Mr Pifer starts describing the pressure change while he and his family are in the basement. What a terrifying moment that must’ve been.

If we get passed the point of helping our fellow man that has fallen on hard times, we are finished as a nation!! For those that refuse to work, or even try, they have plotted their course. But when a family works their fingers to bone, and all is lost in a matter of minutes, we must, by the grace of God, roll up our shirt sleeves and get busy! Hats off to you guys that sacrifice to help your fellow man!!

I can’t really imagine how the Swedish immigrants felt when they saw Minnesota for the first time. Those views are impressive compared to the fields that even present day farmers are working over here

Interesting! From what I've read, they chose this area because it reminded them of the topography back home. I'm sure it was mostly prairie back then.

@@MillennialFarmer I haven’t been in Minnesota my self but looking at on KZbin and hearing about the size of your fields it’s much bigger than over here. Also many of the early immigrants came from parts of Sweden where the amount of rocks in the fields is ridiculous. Almost all old fields and pastures are divided by stone fences, built by hand.

My grandfather told me lots of stories of his family moving to Minnesota from Sweden and Norway in early 1900's. They had sponsors, former immigrants who were now citizens that owned farms here. They would come over and work as farm hands until they got on their own and were able to purchase land or find jobs.
