Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

Not being a farmer myself..... Over the years of watching not only your channel Zac, but also channels like the welkers......you cannot help but feel a deep appreciation for how hard farmers must work.....simply to provide the produce, whether it’s meat or vegetable, it all leads to keeping the nation going. I guess you can say that farmers are at the heart of the nation’s economy and industry :-).

I’ve had the same problem, over handling the fertilizer and augers really grind it up and powder it bad, had it so bad one year that the sulfur was mixing with the humidity in the air and building up in the distribution towers on the plow and plugging there, went to conveyors and direct loads when handling and transporting the fertilizer and that made a world of difference.

Back when we used to put in farm drainage tile we would recommend to farmers that they not till the back filled area until spring as it would settle and create a low spot in the field. With a tile plow the settling is probably not as much of an issue as we would have with our big trencher. That said, it's funny because even when we would tell farmers not to do that, the minute we were loading up to leave they would be out there leveling that land out haha

I would not worry about the lumps in your soil. The frost will have taken care of it by end off April/ early May. Also you need to have a more uniform fertiliser. The dust cannot be measured accurately, while big chunks help to make the mateialr bridge inside the bin.

The patches of sand is probably from a lake being there hundreds or thousands of years ago. Minnesota was once under a big lake. If I had a time machine it would be interesting to see the woolly mammoths that roamed in North America. One of my moms uncles found a mammoth tusk in an area of southern Minnesota decades ago. He kept trying to sell it for a lot more than what it was worth, but he passed away in 1994 and his son said he was donating it to a museum. The tusk was in a round plastic tube and the outside looked like dried flaky Ivory soap. The tusk was very straight.

So pleased to see the strip tiller working so well after all the issues and seeing you struggle so much before.. I bet you're thrilled and relieved! (Just watched from 17:00 and wish I hadn't commented now! ha)

Could you add a basket to the back of the strip tiller to break up the clumpy soil better?

from someone else who runs an aircart - there is always something wrong. My Flexicoil will do the same and stop feeding a couple runs for some reason. I just turn the fan off, tap it with a rubber hammer and then it is good to go. sometimes i have to do that for 10 acres then it works great... frustrating.
