I remember right around the draft watching a video where JJJ and Bamba worked out with KG and JJJ impressed the hell out of KG and you could see he was locked in and motivated and Bamba had more attitude and didn't seem to have that same fire. Here we are 6 seasons later and that initial impression looks very valid. Grizzlies got the right guy.

Those my friend are novice gains. A complete newbie going to the gym would probably lose more pounds in their first 3 to 5 months until they hit their plateau compared to a professional bodybuilder. Elite of the elite basketball players (ie the NBA) only see minute incremental changes because they are way way beyond normal people who plays basketball in their free time.

I saw Bamba play SO much in high school and his talent level was really, really high. I've never seen anyone who has longer arms than he does, and it really seemed like he would be a very good NBA player. But, this video points it out so well...That passion, that drive, that dog just doesn't seem to be in him. These things can be hard to project, but that definitely seems like the biggest reason he's been such a disappointment. He seems to be content just resting on his laurels vs really doing what he needs to improve and stay in the league.

Great point and this is 😮why the number one pick to the Spurs was rigged, because the NBA needs a new face of the league because LeBron is on his way out and Victor will replace him so they could ill afford to have him go to a franchise like Orlando where he would be a bust so POP has had Tim Ducan Tony Parker Lennard, Robinson.
