When you've had to deal with trauma and PTSD all your life, you develop defense mechanisms and a protective shell to make sure no one can hurt you like that again. You don't get mad at the victim for creating their own coping mechanisms and defense system. You just need to respect their space and let them do whatever they need to do to heal and grow. Sadly, people often blame young girls and women for their victimization, stereotypes like "she was/is fast," policing the clothing young girls/women wear, etc. Instead of blaming the older many instances fully grown males for their unethical or even illegal behavior for which these boys/men are 100% responsible for. Boys/men are not animals and as human beings have the capacity for self-control. If they are unwilling to control themselves they need to take up residence at their nearest zoo.
