Mo, started in Blue Grass, some Southern Gospel. And now is bringing back real country music! He does not do the fake country music . He is not on the modern day country radio crap! He has been on country family reunion and Larry’s country dinner! Mo is the real deal! He is feeling the shoes of the true great country singers!!

Mo Pitney could make singing the phonebook sound good. Love the acoustic performances. Wish Mo had more air time on the radio. I love the way he slips into a impersonation of Merl Haggard's voice and actually does it perfectly. Such a good story and a great delivery. Well honey. I've told you about my grandson and my having to get emergency custody of him from my daughter and that being hopefully the motivation for her to get clean and sober and live life the way adults do. Working, paying Bill's, keeping a roof over your kids head, feeding them, but mostly just putting your child first in your life. Well my grandsons other Grandma called this morning. My little man's Daddy was coming down off of something and it's frightening. He had to be admitted to Vanderbuilt Hospital. So this young man has 5 children by 5 different women. His youngest is in his Mom and Dad's custody until he turns 18 because he and the baby's Mom were neglecting him and putting him in dangerous situations so DCS and the court said they had 60 days to get clean and they did not. So here he is with his 2 sons having been taken out of his and their Mom's custody. He says he is finally ready to get clean and do whatever it takes to stay that way. My little man now is being such a grown man dealing with all this. We all tried but could not keep it all secret. Kids aren't stupid, they figure it out then your name is mud because you weren't honest with them. So I had to explain about now his Daddy is going to be in rehab. He is such a good child. Never a minutes trouble with me. And since April was raped 5 times before he through his fear told his older sister who told his other grandma who told us. It was his weekend to spend with his other grandparents. Then Mom has to leave him to get cleaned up and learn coping tools and how to be the Mom she should be to her son and now his Dad. I pray they are serious. This little man has sat in the car coming home from his ball practices and games and just sigh a big sigh and say "I wish I had a Dad like the other kids do." That alone is heartbreaking enough but then when the kids are all together at the grandmother's home, Dad walks through and doesn't even say a single thing to them. He stayed too messed up to realize what he was doing. So I just needed to let it go today and help his Mom find a positive place for him. To let the anger go and be a positive force for the good that is possible now. I am asking for prayers both these little boys and the parents and we 2 grandmothers who need the strength to keep giving our children tough love and take care of the precious boys. Thanks for listening Don!

@Teresia Diane Wow, Teresia, that's a lot on your plate, on the kids' plates, on everybody's plates---kudos to you for stepping up and taking care of your grandson the way are, and I'm sorry things didn't go the way you had been hoping. I've known some folks who were raised by their grandparents and they turned out really well, even though they always had that hole in their life with so many unanswered questions about their own parents. But we're all thinking about you here (at least those who read your post), and feel free to share here anytime you want to, anytime you've just gotta let loose. Keep your chin up (as I know you will), and keep the faith. You're doing a beautiful thing and the final story hasn't yet been told.

I can't imagine how it would be to meet a singer I grew up listening to. I got emotional enough just visiting the Ryman auditorium in the early 2000s . Like I have said I grew up with country music some which was on a TV show called the grand Ole opry .The 60s and early 70s it was filmed at the Ryman auditorium . I can still remember as the show begun ,they would say "live from the Ryman auditorium in Nashville Tennessee its the grand Ole opry."

I like Mo. H'es got a good voice. I like it when people don't look how they are "supposed" to look. I mean he doesn't look like a country singer at all. Don, I'd like to request "The Hard Way" by Eric Church. It is one of my favourite songs by him and I reckon its the kind of thing lyrically that you'll like if you haven't heard it before.
@davidemswiler43515 жыл бұрын
Mo's a cool young man but with only one album, the jury is still out. That's got to be alot of pressure on him! I think the assessment made in Taste of Country hit the nail on the head "Mo isn’t making a statement, and he’s not the sign of some traditional country revolution in 2015. But he’s a reminder of how good a simple country song sung by a man who believes in God and George Strait can feel." Which reminds me, I've noticed in the last eight songs, we've only gotten one Red Dirt artist and in the last 24, only two! :-( You always make your selections fun regardless of genre and I'm hoping this is just a odd happening instead of a shift of focus.
@RockN2Country5 жыл бұрын
@David Emswiler I hadn't noticed the trend of songs (or lack thereof) re: red dirt, but it's a product of the order of requests I'd gotten several months ago, aside from a few songs I injected that I wanted to do. So maybe the pendulum will swing back in due course. In fact, Jason Isbell is on tap tomorrow and Jamey Johnson the day after, with Walker Montgomery the day after that. Tomorrow's is VERY different, especially by Jason's standards. You'll see. Ha!
@davidemswiler43515 жыл бұрын
@@RockN2Country I appreciate the look inside your machine! :-) I guess it stands out to me because Texas and Okie Red Dirt is about 95% of what I listen to daily. Your line-up for this week sounds cool and I'll just keep waiting for some Red Dirt to hit the playlist. (Isbell is Alt-country/Americana, Jamey is Outlaw Country, and Walker is Progressive Country) BTW, Colt Ford is part of my 5% other (he's a country rapper) and he produced Walker Montgomery's 1st single "Simple Town". Mr. Ford also sang a duet with his dad John Michael called "Ride through the Country".

That wasn't the best version of it the best version of it was when he's sitting in that room talking to the people and joking of course and telling them how he met Merle Haggard and then he tells how he wrote the song while Merle Haggard was on stage and then Merle Haggard come off the stage Merle Haggard listen to the song that Moe wrote in the three or four minutes that he was on stage it was cute you need to watch that version he says he writes songs spontaneously all the time but sometimes they turn out to be real turds .he said turd is a word for bad song Just case you didn't know

I just heard this song, probably last week. I loved it! This live version is even better than the studio one. I like his covers so much and this original. Unfortunately, I was not impressed with his album asa whole. I don't think he's found his "true voice" just yet. I'm still trying to figure him out, but I can't because I'm not sure he's figured himself out yet. I hope that makes sense 😉
@RockN2Country5 жыл бұрын
@Arkie Momma Makes total sense!! It takes artists, writers, painters, etc., time and experience to find their voice. I'm in my fifties and just coming into my own in that regard, and still have a little ways to go before I've got it. But it's coming within the next year or so, so I can totally relate to what you said about Mo. He's still a kid, relatively speaking.

Yep. It takes a while FOR SURE! I'm a visual artist and at 34 years old, I'm still trying to find my way too😊
