I admit, I found this episode to be freaking hilarious! Mavis' disapproving face & Gordon's uber-pretentious expressions were both amazingly funny to me. And thanks to you, MO&B, I've even started guffawing at all of the logic flaws, like when Gordon goes to the Dieselworks at the end, why does he feel the need to bring his express coaches along? Are they like his comfort blankey? Like, "Oh gods, I have to do something nice for once. Hold me, Coachy". LOL, Express coach with a creeped out look.

Moab, I know i'm being nit picky, but... You don't need to be a steam or diesel engine to be able to replace what is essentially a plate of metal with buffers attached, it does not run on steam or diesel, it's a buffer beam! All engines have them.

Actually, Will, if you watch the episode and know the Dieselworks layout, there are points where an engine can turn without a turntable. It's known as a "Wye"

I actually had the same reaction to this episode that you did. This was the episode where I finally saw what everyone was talking about with the show going racist and for being an episode that didn't have any strikes at all, I didn't know what to think.

It makes me miss when they used actual train terms and occurrences as story devices to expand a plot. And it also makes you miss when the Engines told stories in the sheds.....

Indeed, but there were also red and green lamps on the bufferbeam too, which indicated it was a recycled version of Den's (who also has red and green lamps), at least to help differentiate which bufferbeam is which :P

The episode was quite funny and interesting, but why didn't James damage his bufferbeam or Gordon's tender when he rammed into it at mach 2 in James To The Rescue?? ._.

I think Hit writers have short term memory. They seem to forget like you said diesels can only fix diesels but then all the sudden they forget they said that and now they can fix anything.

Perhaps... Looks like they decided to re-use Den's bufferbeam, painted with Dart's color of his bufferbeam, so one could say it's more of the combo in that bufferbeam... :P

Ok, one thing about Angelis' Narration, it's not really him at fault here, it's the scriptwriter. Angelis is just paid to read the script under his nose.

I think the narrator has gotten so tired of narrating stuff like "ho ho snowman" and countless others he just doesn't give a flying crap anymore. Did you notice in Thomas toots the crows he kept saying "Uumm" alot.
