If only a sequel to Chrono Cross would be made and it makes little sense why Square or some company can't / won't do it. Some of the most original and passionate game ideas that truly captivated its players were in that time and its faded far too much. Imagine a game like Chrono Cross with the computing power of today done right. Purely a real Epic could be born...what is the world becoming.

reaper7k Uuugh. Trigger didn't need a sequel, and Cross's story was extremely convoluted and poorly told. A coherent sequel would be almost impossible to tell unless they retconned Cross out of continuity. The big problem is Trigger was a game about time travel, and whether you realize it or not the game showed and implied many different timelines that existed and changed as travelers moved through history. It has a very complex story if you're willing to look into the details. Any sequel, including Cross, has to interact with this aspect of Trigger's story in some way, and that's a stupid amount of work to write, and potentially a stupid amount of information to ask the audience to remember and track, especially for a game as old as Trigger is. I'd prefer something in the spirit of Trigger, like Radiant Historia, instead of another misguided sequel.
