This map will always be a favorite of mine because it has a strange human aspect to its characters. Sure, in other maps like Origins, we get our favorite 4 returning, and on Tranzit, we have those 4, but these inmates feel so much more... Desperate. Like they're actually trying to survive. They don't see this as a game like the others do, for them it's literally fight or die. Then the eastereggs... When you need to input that 3-digit number to unlock that one part from purgatory, I experimented and typed "115" and a demonic voice cackled and told me "HAHA! Not this time!" This map was supposedly purgatory. Not the real world. In the real world, Billy, Sal, and Finn killed Weasel on their escape, but they were caught and sentenced to the chair. The four of them were put into this never-ending cycle to learn the errors of their ways and let the Weasel exact his revenge by killing them on the bridge. I definitely want more zombie maps like this. Considering how Buried wrapped up our main storyline, and Origins takes place in a different timeline.

The Vault Girl ™ Frankly Origins could have been way better if it had done this: Samantha uses Agartha to travel back in time to World War 1 and influences the characters to free her so that she can relay information about the future. Once they free her, she tells them about Richtofen and what he does to the world in the future. This then enacts the scenario much like the Mob of the Dead Crew, where three are on one, except this time, you break the cycle by killing the odd man out (Richtofen). By killing Richtofen in World War 1 (thanks to Samantha) the crew avoid being test subjects, Ludwig Maxis eventually fails his operations in World War 2 and never dies. Samantha never goes into the Aether and the world isn't destroyed in Buried. They save the world by ending Richtofen. Sam went to the beginning to bring about the end.

This is easily my favourite zombies map. The characters were deep, the atmosphere was incredible, and the guns just worked. You didn't have the 'la-dee-dah, oh look a zombie, bang-bang!' This map was more like 'Holy shit!' in it's delivery. The hanging bodies and the way the zombies were covered in glass and barbed wire just made it seem as if Bill, Sal, Finn and Weasel were in hell. One of the most emotional maps of all time.

I totally agree, just the entire emotion, especially with this Director's Cut. Just the thought of the never-ending cycle torture of building the plane, flying, hitting the bridge, dying, and repeating goes great with these characters, and really does make it feel like they're in their own personal hell.

There needs to be a TV series of the mob of the dead crew. I'd imagine it like this; Season 1: Sal and Billy begin the foundations of the mob and criminal enterprise, with Finn and al being introduced towards the end. Season 2: The gang is doing well as they take out their rivals and profit off of the illegal alcohol trade, but the authorities, notably Jackie Vincent start taking an interest in the mobsters and eventually arrest them. Season 3: Starts off with the mobster's trial and them being sentenced to Alcatraz. Half way through, They plan their escape and it goes sour, withAl being killed by the other three who are put to death, with the events of Mob of the Dead taking place at the last few episodes with the series finale having Al kill the other three and breaking the cycle.

Honestly I can agree. I do agree, Blood is fun, but the map itself just isn't the same without the mobsters. The mobsters helped with the perfection of this map. Im not its perfect, because it did have flaws, but out of the two mob imo is better. Blood of the dead just doesn't have the same appeal like mob did, not the same emotion or relation. You don't feel the same fear in blood like in mob, and you don't feel as trapped. Treyarch nailed mob on its head, not quite so much on blood. But both are good, nonetheless.

I still think this is one of, if not the best zombies map because of the story on a single map and the Easter egg that has 2 endings. It was awesome discovering that as friends online, not knowing anything about Easter eggs and just stumbling across it through multiple playthroughs, finding all new shit and thinking "woah, How'd we do this?!"
