Also the school was back together because Mob, at 100% (different from the ???%), used his power to put everything back together. That's when he reached 100% after getting out of the ???%

100% Mob is different to ???% Mob, you may not have realized that he didn't explode during the fight against Teru, he switched to ???% because he was unconscious (which is WAY more powerful than his 100%), after he gained consciousness he was at 96% and exploded in sadness, which allowed him to fix the school back. I hoped I explained clearly.

Teru gazing upon the sun, and realising how small he is compared to the sun, is a parallel with him awakening the "???", and realising how " small" he is compared to Mob He finally realizes, while in comparison with the sun and Mob, that there's much powerful things than him. Actually, in fact, the simplistic artstyle allows the animators to create WAY more expressive characters than in normal anime, generally in normally anime you just have a character standing still and just the mouth is moving, because the details on the character might be very intricate, but with mob psycho, since the art is simplistic, it doesn’t take as long to draw which means the animators can make the characters do complicated gestures and facial expressions

loved seeing you two torn between not wanting mob to use his powers because he's so determined not to, to wanting him to use it a little to at least defend himself to finding out why he doesn't want to use his powers and not wanting him to use it for his own sake. my fave reactors to this show are always the one who are actually empathetic to mob and his struggles re: his powers and not wanting to use them. the discussion re: reigen and what his lessons mean to mob is so good. reigen is such a fun character to unpack in general i think. i cannot wait for you two to see more lol i already said this in your fmab reactions but i wish i could ffw time just so i could see your reactions to all the episodes already but i'm impatient like that!

When I saw they knew why Mob shouldn't/doesn't want to reach 100%, I got even more excited to see their reactions to certain scenes later on. Many reactors miss that point of the show and I'm so glad that Lola and Milena are way more empathic and intuitive than most!

There’s a misconception that some people make about Mob: Mob doesn’t emote and, to an extent, he thinks he has no emotions; but Mob in reality is a very emotional person. Heck, even overly emotional sometimes. It’s interesting how the series shows us Mob having emotions all the time while also telling us (because we are seeing this from Mob’s perspective) that he doesn’t have emotions at all. (Heyy dissonance between the text and image done right!) He has difficulty showing them but he is experiencing emotion at all times. And I’m not even talking about the big scenes, like when he reaches 100%, I’m talking about his daily life. He gets happy, nervous, sad, melancholic, introspective, annoyed… the list goes on. The problem is that people in his social circle don’t recognize this, and Mob has internalized this false idea that he has no emotions (again, to an extent. The way I see it, he thinks about it subconsciously) Thank you for coming to my TED talk. Also this had nothing to do with the ep lol.

I'm Japanese. The title of this episode "Ochimusha" (落武者) means a samurai of defeated army who survived and fled the battlefield. So in this case, it represents Teru who lost the battle with mob. Moreover, the hairstyle of Teru and Ochimusha are exactly the same !! This is one of the funny moments in this episode.

im so happy that you guys are actually so understanding and empathetic to Mob’s decision of not fighting. So many reactors often feel disappointed with Mob’s “no fighting policy” and just want him to go berserk, without actually considering what kind of character he is. I feel like people forget that Mob is just a 14 year boy, he is a child. Even if he has incredible powers, he is still a kid. He doesnt want to hurt others or engage himself in fights because he knows how destructive and dangerous his powers are.

The thing with Dimple commenting on the girl having a nice butt, besides it being a bit disturbing (because I assume Dimple used to be an adult man who then died and turned into a spirit), is also interesting because... he was probably saying out loud what Mob didn't allow himself to think. Like any self-respecting shoulder devil, Dimple was pushing Mob to embrace that side of himself, yet Mob is shutting out those thoughts, despite being a growing boy.

IMO Mob is special, not bc of his psychic powers, it's bc he refuses to use them even to the point to develop a full ass complex to restrict his emotion output in the hope to never use them, something that lets keep it real, grown ass ppl wouldn't do. And so now, you begin to see the problem here, regarding Shigeo/Mob. See, when it comes to anything by ONE (the creator of One Punch Man and Mob Psycho 100), one of his favorite things to play with is obviously the shonen trope of characters who believe that only the strong should be allowed to have their way, ignoring the glaring flaw in that mindset...there's ALWAYS going to be someone stronger. However, ONE also turns this trope on its head by asking a very interesting question...what if there really WAS no one stronger? Is the grass REALLY greener on the other side? In the case of One Punch Man, it's brought Saitama no happiness because he realized there was nothing left for him to achieve. And in the case of Mob Psycho 100, it's brought Shigeo no happiness because he realized his powers make him just as dangerous to the people he cares about as to whatever random threat might happen to stumble his way. This is why Shigeo is the way he is. It's why it's why he suppresses his emotions to the point where he "explodes" like this. It's why he tries to use his powers as little as possible, if he doesn't have to. And it's why he reached out to someone like Reigen (even though Reigen is obviously using him), because he's desperately looking for something...ANYTHING...to anchor himself to his humanity, so he doesn't transform into the monster he's terrified of becoming. I think we're at the point where you see that now, especially after bearing witness to "The Unknown Percentage". And you're only going to see just how much harder it gets for him, going forward. ^_^;

Now simply put, you might have noticed when Mob passed out, the percentage before his next emotional-explosion completely shut down (of course since he passed out). Afterward, how his unconscious body rose and he _essentially_ subconsciously *snapped* resulting in an *_???%_* or an 'Unknown Percentage.' It was only afterward when he came-to he hit 100% Sadness, in remorse for his failing to keep himself in check. In short, his unconscious mind broke and sent him _far beyond_ what he usually is. It's implied the same thing happened when he and Ritsu were being picked on by the High schoolers when they were younger. This is what Ritsu meant by _That wasn't his Big Brother;_ something was _different_ about him, and of course in the midst of that, Mob ended up hurting his brother in his similar blackout then.

What I understand is that ???% and 100% are completely different, the first one is Mob being unconscious and without feelings, like an automatic defense mechanism, and 100% is the regular Mob but being driven by a feeling. I used to theorize that there is a god or spiritual being inside Mob, but it could be a second personality or maybe just unconscious Mob (like that blonde char from this famous anime that I don't want to spoil)

the insterestin thing about this episode is that it shows how mob and teru are the same, both of them are pathetic without their powers, yet both of them lived very differently, and both of them opposed each other's ideas, mob's idea was that psychic powers do not make him special and therefore teru is also not special, he is just avarage, like mob, but teru believes that by having those powers he is special, and therefoe he should use those powers for himself, the way they oppose each other is by not using what the other one uses, mob did not try to use his powers, instead he tried to punch him, because it is not that he is against the idea of fighting teru but he is against the idea of using his powers for his own gain, so he decides to use the other thing he has been trying to get better at, his streght, but he fails, but he still does not use his powers, ultimately rejecting teru's idea until the end

The ???% is a confusing label, because it is a state that has nothing to do with Mob emotion percentage. Without spoilers from the final season, you should understand ???% as Mob's power being completely free from his own control (as he is unconscious when it happens). Mob fears the ???% state, which is why he bottles up his emotions in the first place, always afraid to lose control of his powers. In this episode, when he realizes that it happened again, he felt sadness.

The way Mob reacts to and talks with bullies feels like someone spied on me in middle school and made anime based on that. XD I fight well and I'm a good shot who sometimes has weapons on her but despite being attacked many times, sometimes by groups of people, I never used a weapon against anyone and I never attacked first. I take pride in that. Saving my humanity is more important than survival.

I dont think that was his brother. When Mob was fighting the blond guy it said that Mob was unconscious and that the blond guy has awoken something that he never should have touched. From that I get the feeling that Mob has something lying beneath him that is not him (or at least not part of his conscious psyche).
