The way Reigen supported Mob both while he was preparing for the marathon and in this scene is REALLY underappreciated. He not only let Mob take time off work to allow him to prepare, Reigen even trained together with him! Despite not being in shape. The only reason why he trained was to support Mob. He went so far as to run alongside him, with proper gym clothes on and everything, in this last part of the marathon to cheer him on and motivate him. He even counted what place Mob was in. I feel like people don't appreciate this nearly enough, it's so sweet. It's subtle because Reigen rarely expresses it with words, but he's basically Mob's biggest supporter, he loves him so much. It's shown in his actions and in all the things he does for Mob. It makes my heart melt

Him training with Mob was also brought up in the last episode when he ran after him, all the time he spent running with Mob in preparation for the Marathon inspired him to improve himself too and he kept up the training after the Marathon. That's how he managed to run through the entire obstacle course made by Mob's psychic powers going wild, Mob's efforts pushed him to do the same, giving him the endurance to survive the suicide run to catch up with him.

to be fair to Ritsu when he first got his powers I think it's a case of him getting carried away. it's what happens with every single esper in the series as well as most of the other characters. I'd say it's honestly a core message of the show that you're pretty much bound to get carried away with stuff and that you might end up hurting people or doing stupid stuff because of it but that's what it is to be human and all you can do is take responsibility, try your best to be better and forgive yourself since you can't do any of that if you're too busy making yourself feel worse.

To be honest I think she really likes Mob. Not romantically for sure but she likes him as a person and has a lot of respect for him. They don't share many interests which keeps them from being friends but she enjoys watching him improve every day. Reigen did all that recon and prepwork to help a middleschooler in a footrace. I also like that Tsubomi, the girl Mob hasa crush on, actually cheered for him, and he didn't freak out. It may have been the blood loss dulling brain, but I like to think that it wasn't about impressing anyone. He was focused on proving to himself he was better.

I know this is super cheesy and goes without saying but Mob really is a good person. He pushed himself throughout the entire series to be prepared for this marathon. Despite not being able to make it in even in the top 10 he focused purely on just making it to the finish line. Many people he stayed genuine to even came along to support him because they knew how much it meant to him. That’s the part that gets me right in the feels everytime 🥺🥺 I’m so glad I saw this clip today because I’ve been feeling like no matter how much I do I never seem to get anywhere.

Mob my dude, you gotta use your nose to steady your breathing. In through the nose, out through the mouth. Everything flows from the breath, that's just a fact. If your breathing isn't steady, then you're not getting a steady flow of oxygen to your body, and thus your stride will become less consistent, which will force you to focus more on your legs, which is the exact opposite of what you want when long-distance running. When running long distance, focus on your breathing. Find a rhythm that works for you. For me it's 3 steps inhaling, 2 steps exhaling. I just count to 5 over and over, keeping my breathing in time. Different people will prefer different rhythms, so experiment on what feels best for you. If you can get in the zone, you could run 2 kilometres or 20, the only difference is how sore you get the next day.
