This is why the relationship between Mob and Reigen works so well: Mob is a kid that only has powers but lacks everything else, and Reigen is the exact opposite (he's shown himself being competitive in many different things). The most touching part was probably when Mob confessed that he knew about Reigen not having powers all along, yet he still stayed by his side and kept calling him master because of how much he looked up to him. Such a beautiful relationship from such amazing characters.
@ApexGale4 жыл бұрын
That's the thing, Mob never once asked Reigen if he could help him with his powers. All he did was earnestly confide in Reigen how being a naturally powerful esper scared him. From the start Reigen had always been a genuinely good person stuck in a bad job. He knew exactly what to say to Mob and didn't tell him to get lost. And all he said was "I'll show you how to use your powers." The best part is, Reigen did just that. He taught Mob to only use his powers for dealing with other supernatural issues. He gave him a strong moral compass and kept him on the right track. Mob was one bad day away from becoming just like the psychic villains of the show. Mob never worked for Reigen to learn how to be a better esper. He did it because he wanted to learn how to be a good person. In his eyes, Reigen is the ideal friend and personality.

Mob Psycho 100 is one of the best Shonen series of all time. It has a few issues justified by ONE's lack of experience, but it manages to tell a far more realistic story than many other series: even with all the psychic powers and the fights, this anime doesn't lose its focus and defines a bunch of very relatable main characters, with understandable life choices and strong relationships between each other. The most realistic anime from the last decade it's the story of a 14-years old kid with powers that can manipulate the reality. It seems pretty ironic.

Damm the ending to this episode is just so powerful. Just a few words were enough to make us feel so many different feelings. Reigen is a great character and Mobs progession is awesome

And here was when Reigen changed Mob's life and Mob changed Raigen's life

This genuinely makes me tear up. Reigen really is one of the best characters in anime.

I also think about how the first thing Reigan thought when he spilled his drink was for mob not to get burned.

I like how Reigen is a conman and cynical in his thoughts, but he really is a good person. It's been proven many times before Mob said it. Even when Reigen was at his lowest. What a beautiful story.

I know reigen took advantage of mob’s ability but he genuinely a nice guy. He played along with a kid’s game and tried to send the kid home with a good advice

Reigen: “I’ll just spout some BS so that this kid will go home and leave me alone” Also Reigen: Gives some actual great advice that not only gives peace to a troubled kid, afraid of himself and the powers that he has. It became Mob’s core philosophy, one that had he not heard, might’ve turned into someone like Claw’s boss.

Damn Reigen just invents that suff as he's speaking to get rid of the child and still it's one of the wisest things he has said...

Mob has grown up significantly from this point onward and has started to become more confident in himself.

One could argue regan was using mob, but at the same time? He showed kindness and gave Mob grounding. He became a friend and mentor to a scared kid still trying to get a handle on life.

he was doing both. he stops being a user and gains some respect for the kid after this episode.

That Seasons Arc was just awesome wholesomness all around. We got to see his life, and even self reflect on himself and grow as a person in order to become better for the people in his life. This scene in particular always gives me such a fun glee seeing Reigan help motivate Mob even when he was partially making something up on the fly like a motivational speaker. I sometimes like to imagine Mob never showed him his psychic powers and Reigan agreed to let Mob visit him every now and again, that be the most wholesome thing I could imagine.

Mob Psycho is better than OPM ...

Definitely. I'm far more interested in Mob Psycho because of the well written character development.

Arthur P. OPM is just a gag. It’s good but Mob Psycho is better because it has a good story and character development
@IceLizardsUnited5 жыл бұрын
The author, ONE, has even gone on record to say that he only writes OPM in his free time as a hobby. While Mob Psycho 100 is his serious work, where he puts all his time and effort into improving and fleshing out the characters.

Reigen didn't even take a second to question or be surprised at his powers just immediately getting to the point lool He is such a good con artist that he isn't taken aback by a strange truth
