@@seamonie48 I've grew up in Florida and am fond of it. I now just east of Mobile. Both states have their pros and cons, but I find the Alabama Gulf Coast to be absolutely lovely. Great people, good food, awesome beaches. Location is everything. We're 2.5h from New Orleans, 1h from Biloxi casinos, 1h from Pensacola, 5h from Atlanta and 7h to Orlando. Best of all the worlds

@@Sirg17x I’d recommend visiting the area first of course, as with any other area You are planning to check out and consider. Research the different surrounding areas( Suburbs, Rural, Coastal, City and Adjacent Cities and Communities) to see what area suits You and Your family best. It is a very Family Oriented, Down to Earth part of the Country. I grew up here but have lived many other places. Am always happy to com back home and be a part of this wonderful Special Place. I was just here. We drove up from lauderdale to check out the Pan Handle. I am originally from Boston so I actually never been to the south. I always have been fascinated with Alabama. So the wife and I took a hour and 3 min ride and spent the day in Mobile. One of the best cities I have been to. Just a gem. The houses and the streets. Washington Park was beautiful. Everyone was so nice. You need to go see this city. So much history. I want to go to mardis gras there. Being from the north we only hear the wrong about the the south. The south is amazing! Love it. We are actually thinking about moving to Pensacola. I will frequently be in Bama. My next stop is Mississippi.

Just came across your video. I will be taking a trip down to Alabama in a couple of weeks, looking for my retirement home, as I will be retiring in November. I am familiar with Alabama as my father's hometown is Tuskegee Alabama. Growing up my summer vacations were down there visiting my grandma and other relatives. I am so excited to visit there as I am coming from Wisconsin. Thank you for the useful info.

But what really clinched my decision to subscribe to your channel is that you are the first travel channel I've seen who knows how to properly mix the music levels. The music was not overpowering. You did a very nice job for downtown Mobile, & especially the USS Alabama. As a native Mobilian, I think your timing was off- obviously, Mardi Gras was missed- but end of January-February 2022 will be AMAZING! You were correct on Mobile being in a "time warp"...we are literally stuck between the "Old South" & the "New South". We're working on it...come back again in a few years.

I live in Florida but love coming back to visit Mobile for the quaintness, historical feel, nature, food, n MArdi Gras parades n revelry. I took my friend from Miami last year and she loves Mobile n Festivities that she is coming back next month.Gotta make popular restaurant reservations 2 to 3 weeks in advance of Mardi Gras. Best Seafood Ever in Mobile AL n causeway. Some People who live in Mobile Don’t appreciate what Mobile has to offer. People everywhere are like that. For instance some people lived all their life their n never visited Bellingrath Garden which is awesome especially during spring and they even had Christmas lights - the best I’ve ever been too . Even the yearly Nutrcracker Ballet performance is to die for. I get mad when people say my dads hometown is country n backwards but it could be further from the truth. They have so many performing art venues like plays, ballets, jazz, classical, blues, museums, etc. also if you love nature, you’ve got that too in Mobile. I love the 3 delta river prerervation/ center too.I’m never bored when I go to Mobile AL. It’s also so close to Pensacola beach, Gulf shores beach, New Orleans, Biloxi Mississippi Casinos.

"Its friendly, but don't look 'em in the eyes lol. I don't know why, but it offends them." That part had me. Just sounded like the beginning of some horror movie. I get he means though people sorta mind their own business which is nice honestly. I live in a small midwest town of maybe 25k people, where gossip and everyone elses life is always up for discussion. I used to live in a slightly bigger town maybe half the size of Mobile that was a similar way. Perfectly nice and safe town. There were a few areas you tended to not go, but you had no need to go there and as long as you minded your own business and lived your life without obstructing another's life you were all good. It gets so exhausting hearing everyone in your town's life story every time anyone opens their mouth.

This is simple sad, and I wonder did he not speak to any locals, travel outside of a half-mile square area, or even read a Wikipedia page? Mobile is way more than this rube would lead you to believe.
