Great video thank you, love your company and products. Your love of the dogs is a big reason I purchased from you originally. Although getting an email from the owner when asking a question on which antenna to buy really helped :) Anyhow. I purchased the poynting xpol from you guys a year ago and have it on an aluminum pole which suction cups to side window on the fifth wheel. Has worked FANTASTIC. Only takes a few seconds to mount when we get to the campground and gives really great results for our cell service.

Can a ferrous plate for a magnet mount also acts as a ground plane? AANNND you answered it in this video. Ferrous ground plane is an option... THANK YOU

Do you recommend mounting the 12x12x6 junction box with VHB, screws (inside), and Dicor (around the outer edge)?
@MobileMustHave
@MobileMustHave 7 ай бұрын
That size sounds perfect! If you are planning on putting the antenna on top of the junction box, you would just want to ensure that the junction box is big enough for the antenna to sit on. 12x12x6 is perfect if you're going with the Parsec Husky or Great Pyrenees. Other than that, VHB tape, screws, and dicor as a final protective layer sounds like a great plan! If you have some time, check out our latest install video where Andy and Erik help install a smaller junction box, it should be helpful: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jX-1fJKOpshkhJI If you have any other questions, reach out to us via email at info@mobilemusthave.com and we'll be happy to help!

Is height more important than placement? For instance inside the fiberglass cap or 2' higher on the roof? Also, would a metal ground plane inside the cap outperform no ground plane on the roof? Fiberglass can't be a serious impediment to cellular signal, can it?
@MobileMustHave
@MobileMustHave 9 ай бұрын
For that example, you would definitely want to install it on your roof. Fiberglass is not a serious impediment, but you should see a better signal without the cap interference, even with the ground plane. Although, placement can definitely be more important than height in examples where you'll be installing the antenna close to the AC or solar panels. If you have any other questions about our antennas or any of our other products, reach out to us via email at info@mobilemusthave.com and we'll be happy to help! Thank you and safe travels!

Thanks for the great video! I'm trying to mount high enough to stop interference from the air conditioner. Would you ever recommend installing on the top of the air conditioner?
@MobileMustHave
@MobileMustHave 2 жыл бұрын
no being that close to a motor will cause a lot of interferance. As long as the antenna is 18 inches away from the ac or other roof fan it should not have any issues.

Great video thank you so much! What would you recommend for permanently attaching to a van? We are unable to access the roof from the interior (blocked off) but can guide wires through any drilled holes. We are slightly concerned with depending solely on the adhesive stick as the van is used all 4 seasons.

Honestly we do consider the adhesive permanent. Our customers have ever had problems with that coming loose. One thing with vans is there can be ridges on the roofs. In that case, you can also look at the Parsec Husky with a magnet mount as they can adjust to ridges.

Starlink could be a great part of the solution for stationary use. I would also consider the Parsec Akita antenna for omni-directional high power pole mount cellular. You can pair that with a Peplink MAX Br1 or MAX Br2 mobile router to control the entire system while creating load balancing/redundancy if necessary depending on the application.

Any chance y’all could do an Poynting install on an Airstream ? Curved roof. Does it have to be vertical or can it follow the roof curve? Thanks
@MobileMustHave
@MobileMustHave 2 жыл бұрын
Its the same antena that airstream oem installs so it works fine. It will perform optimally perfectly flat but also works if its at a slight angle just not as well (airstream often installs them on the curve). Note this antenna does not support 600mhz so if your thinking of using tmobile consider the pepwave 42g or possibly the parsec k9 as an alternative.

Any issues with mounting the Husky on a roof rack? Basically mounting it like a solar panel with a gap in-between the van roof and the antenna?
@MobileMustHave
@MobileMustHave 2 жыл бұрын
That should be fine, many people mount it using the Pole mount option with this concept. Just be careful not to create any shading on the solar panels if applicable with the antenna but the antenna itself supports a mount in this configuration.

Vice job. Just ordered the Poynting 5 in 1. Do you sell the ground plane that would be appropriate for this antenna?

Hi Al, thanks for the comment. We have had good luck with the 16" ground plane with Poynting here. mobilemusthave.com/products/16-aluminum-ground-plane?_pos=1&_sid=16582a714&_ss=r

Thanks. Will get on order. I was clear on installation of the antenna until this was added to the equation. As this goes down first and then the antenna to this, what’s the best way to attach this to the typical 5th wheel roof?
