Hey Ian, typically with metal roofs you see silicone based roof products which are not as self leveling (since the roof is curved) and also provide a stronger bond with metal. That said gluing down a magnet antenna is a bit tricky. Have you looked at the Parsec K9? Its super low profile and narrow so perfect for a curved roof and has a magnet mount options as well which you could secure similar to what you explained before. I'd probably look at a silicone based product not dicor for a stronger bond with a metal roof application similar to what airstream OEM uses on the Interstate roofs we've worked on. Does the parsec Husky 7-1 need a Ground Plane? I want to mount it on a plastic junction box above my Girard awnings. I bought the round ground plane, but do i cut it square and mount it to the box? thanks!!

A ground plan is always helpful to an antenna as it helps collect the signal that is bouncing off things. It is NOT required, unless our listing states it, but always suggested. The ground plan needs to be a few inches away from the antennas surface to create the effect. If you box isn' that big, you will still get great performance skipping it. Look for our video on the Speed Demon install and you can see how we mounted one on a junction box too.

Great video I have t mobile so it looks like parsec would be best. A couple of questions does the pep wave router support visible SIM card? Also I have a 2021 Tiffin Allergo bus with the roof mount wings on the side for air flow, does the parsec need to be installed above the side and front wings to get better reception? Thanks, Keith

Hi Keith, the Parsec is our highest performing omni roof antenna antenna and yes supports 600mhz for tmobile, great choice. As of Sept 2021 Visible works on our Pepwave devices. Visible is designed to be used with a phone, not a hotspot so this may change but many of our customers report Visible working great. Thanks Andy…I plan to procure a pep wave duo Cat 12 modem so I want a 7 in 1 antenna but I want to support the 600 MHz band. Does the poynting antenna now support this? Which antenna would you recommend now? Thanks

Hi Joe, the transit duo does not support band 71. The transit cat 18 does. Remember band 71 is only available on TMobile too. The Parsec and MobileMark support this frequency tho!

I have a MobileMark antenna I'm about ready to install. I have a ground plane on it and planned on using tape to hold it in place. I noticed on the Parsec that it had some type of 3M tape. Any chance you could tell me which tape that is? I'm thinking of using 3M VHB tape, but if something else is better I'm interested. Thanks.

Hi Steven, we sell sheets of vhb tape on our site in 12x12 sheets but you just as easily just drill 4 holes at 12, 3, 6, 9 o clock on the ground plane to secure it and dicor over the screw heads as well as the perimeter of the ground plane to water seal it. @@MobileMustHave Thank you for your reply. I thought about fastening the ground plane, but I have no way to tighten the nut once the antenna is in place unless I cut a large hole in the ceiling. I was thinking of using VHB tape and Dicor the perimeter. Ordering the sheet of VHB is my next step. :)

Are these antennas compatible with mofi modem?

We dont sell Mofi modems but I believe they have standard SMA connectors on the cellular and RP-SMA connectors on the wifi ports so you shouldnt have any issues using an antenna like this with a mofi. Please double check with your Mofi manuals/point of purchase but it should work!

Thanks for the info! Super helpful. Quick question -- If I went with the Parsec for the boost, would it be possible for me to shorten the cables? I literally need 3 ft of cable where I'm mounting mine and would rather not have all that extra cable, plus any cable loss from such long cables. I'm new to this stuff, so I don't know if those wires can be cut and new fittings put on the ends. Thanks!

Good Question, currently no, Parsec does not offer a custom cable option, but we did just order a bunch of Parsec with 6.8ft of cable and you can opt for that option.

6.8 ft = 2 meters. 3 meters is 118 inches or nearly 10 ft. I am guessing you meant to say everything you sell has a 3 meter antenna cable as a 6 ft cable would be useless in an rv,
