How well does this protect the chickens during the winter months?
@bluebirdhomestead Жыл бұрын
Yes 😊 We live in zone 7, so for the most part we have fairly mild winters compared to some parts of the country. Chickens are pretty hardy birds (some breeds more than others though). One of the most important things is making sure they have a place to go that is dry and out of the wind, which this house does. 😊It also gives them a place to be protected from predators.

Great creation! So where are the chickens when you move the coop around? Do they go into the enclosed part?
@bluebirdhomestead Жыл бұрын
If we are going a long distance we will put the chickens inside the house portion, before moving them. Typically we only move just to next spot in the yard (that way the grass is fertilized evenly haha) they just stay in the “run” portion when we do that. We just go slow to make sure they all move with the coop. Sometimes one will be distracted and take a second to realize the coop is moving haha, so we just go slow if they aren’t in their house.😊
