Great setup man! Always been curious to see how the packout boxes fair against traditional drawer packs

So far they have been holding up very well! They are super light which means I can hold more weight in tools, and tools pay the bills.

See you mentioned needle scaler is your favourite tool, any tips on what jobs you use it for / find it good for ? Have only used mine for chassis restoration.

It’s a great tool for removing/finding rotten backing plates on disc brake assemblies. Good also for fuel pump lock rings. Can be used on heavily corroded caliper carriers.

Didn't realize there was a tire season other than people swapping snows for summers. Can you explain please?
@autovancan Жыл бұрын
Hi there, automotive shops/mechanics in this area refer to as the busy season as everyone all at once has their wheels/tires swapped for the change in “season” I.e winter to spring and fall to winter. It’s commonly known as “tire” season. There is a large ramp up in tire sales in accordance to the seasonal change over as it is typically when customers will buy tires. Shops and myself included will typically be fully booked and have a typical waiting period of over a month during this time. It makes fitting in emergency appointments difficult at times. Hope this helps.

@@autovancan Thank you sir, you don't mount and balance tires though do you?

Unfortunately not at this time 😭

However I do offer static balancing services.

Man this setting is confusing. We have an obvious English man driving on the wrong side of the road (for and englishman). North American electrical components. European and American tools. I can only guess he's a English who.... migrated to Canada?

You are correct, I am an Englishman living in Canada. 🇨🇦👍🏻

Should buy couple cheep bigger tool boxes and just bolt them in van...looks very unpleasant now.. sure it works but takes up lots of space with cheep plastic tool boxes that not last
@autovancan Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your feedback, metal boxes take away from the GVWR, heavy boxes don’t make money tools do.
@bryansenulis7242 Жыл бұрын
@@autovancan there tool boxes that not heavy. 300 pounds or less to fill whole van with tool boxes
@thealliedspy4170 Жыл бұрын
I like the plastic tool boxes, they don't rust, can be moved out in case you have to crossload/work on a vehicle in a tight space that you can't fit the van in, & modular customization. I'm thinking of getting an explorer 5140 or pelican 0450 plastic tool case for mobile mech side gigs.

Metal tool boxes are great for mobile van/truck storage (seen dudes use the cheaper HF boxes) but in the clip, it's mentioned he prefers these boxes because they are sealed and help prevent rust on his tools. It'd be cool if you could seal off those metal tool boxes (rubber seals), without it affecting drawer sliding. Patent pending! 😁
