Mobile Suit Gundam Journey To Jaburo Perfect S Rank Challenge

Loved this video...Great nostalgia. I actually still own this game and play it about once a month when I have time for it lol I have this crazy mandela affect moment on this game...that not only myself experienced but my brother and old childhood friend experienced on this game. When this game first came out we were all huge gundam fans pretty much the same way you came across it through Gundam Wing. So we use to play this game everyday for a few hours as soon as we got back from school...eventually all three of us were beast at playing this game. There is a Tactics maps where you are in the same city from the 8th Ms Team. Anyways. I remember we all challenged ourselves to beat all 3 maps with either Zaku 1 or 2 with only melee and the firecrackers. I remember at one point we were getting the cadence of the spawns and locations of the enemies (the feddies in this case ;p) so we were able to do thing with incredible timing and I remember at one point the gundam arrives on the map and we engaged and in the midst of this engagement we saw what looked like a black gundam come out as well right as we died and we could never get it to come back again. I have researched this game on reddit and looked up a ton of play through/review to see if there is any mention of this...but nothing. I am wondering if you have run into or heard anything like this from this game.

I don't recall ever seeing something like what you described. When I was a kid and played on the Zeon side for the city map in Battle Tactics I often used the Gouf and pretended it was the Gouf Custom from the anime and tried to replicate some of the character's movements. That's really all I remember back then whenever I played on Zeon's side. And recently when I dug up the game from my collection I have only used the Federation suits so far. It may have happened when I was a kid, but I just don't recall it. I also tried to fly the GM around the third Battle Tactics map similar to how the Powered GM flew around the space colony debris in the opening to Stardust Memories when it's training against 3 captured Zakus. On that map I thought I remembered being able to shoot down more than 1 GAW, but so far only one ever appears. I might just be remembering things wrong, of course.

I heard of Lost War Chronicles, but I don't think it was ever available in the U.S. At least as far as I know. I really liked Gundam vs Zeta Gundam, but I never forgave it for not having the Alex in it. You could use the Ground type Gundams and GMs from 08th MS team, but no Alex from 0080.

@@Mobilesuitk9 Oh, i see.. 🤔 *_Gundam Lost War Chronicle_* is one of the best game i ever played. 👍🏻 Oh, almost forgot *_MS Saga: A Mew Dawn_* . One of the best game too at PS2 era for me. 🤧 Was hoping in *_Gundam Vs Zeta Gundam_* someday allowed us making MS when i was a child. The aesthetic looking will be crazy! 😂👌🏼

I've been recently looking for a copy of MS Saga. Unfortunately the only ones I find sell for at least $250. More than I'm willing to pay for a game.

I remember renting Journey to Jaburo to play on our family PS2, I couldn't get past the second level and the controls were frustrating, but still my parents got me the game for my bday a months later. I don't recall being ungrateful about it, so I must have sucked it up and kept playing. I don't remember any of the main story missions now, but I do remember bits of Tactics Battle, being the only game where you could pilot my favorite MS, the Kampfer, at the time. I miss it for that alone.

Thanks for making this, it saves me some time in getting the S-ranks. Mainly with the idea I won't bother with it since it's RNG. I do have one question, I was checking the gallery and it appears that even though I finished the story mode, I'm missing one cutscene. Any idea what this could be?

Sorry to say that that one cut scene is most likely unlocked through getting an S rank in a certain mission. I only unlocked all the story cut scenes myself once I finally got S rank on all the missions.

@@Mobilesuitk9 I've figured out that the cutscene I'm missing is Ranbal Rall's alternate attack. However, I'm currently stuck getting the last cutscenes in tactics battle. Perhaps S-ranking the story modes will do something.. I hope my game isn't glitched but I unlocked Garma's Zaku at least.
