Pau said once they tried to find a good way to make it longer with no luck. Her advice was to play it twice. Their Basement (the warning cave) is where they work on the moves & expressions. The wall out in front of them in that room is all mirrors. When you see PAU doing the "evil stare" she's looking at herself in the mirror. But, I think most of what they do just naturally happens. Especially Dany.. 🤘🎶☮️

I so wish the "common" clip of the Teatro version was 10 seconds longer. Maybe only 5 seconds. On the occasions the ladies play this tune live these days, Dany likes to "tease" the song, strumming out the first chord or two of the tune before really starting it up. She'll walk back and forth, popping off a strum and then look out at the audience as if she and they don't know exactly what's coming next... and then start up, with this expression on her face like, "OMG!!! The guitar is taking over and running away with me!!", when we all know damn well what is happening. Classic goofball Dany at her finest. 😋

It's hard to get over that one of them is just THIRTEEN and the way she ends the show despite losing the sound on her bass is just EPIC! Real performers!

The Warning did mention in Vlog #23 that they tried to extend Dull Knives with another chorus. And even a guitar solo. But it didn't work since the song, as is, screamed to them to leave it alone. But The Warning does have an solution if you want a longer Dull Knives. *PLAY IT AGAIN.* *Queen of the Murder Scene Vlogs* where DPA tells you stuff about each song on that album. Vlog #23 explains Chapter 1 & 2. Vlog #25 explains Chapter 3. Vlog #26 explains Chapter 4. There is also an Dull Knives acoustic version with Pau playing the piano & Dany singing on KZbin.

Listening to the heavy topics of the music they create, the one thing that endears me to these ladies is their innocence despite the darkness. They sometimes, especially Dany, seems a little bit awkward, nerdy, yet sweet as pie. For me, this is what sets them apart from many other bands and makes me like them even more.

Can't deny the Cave is a spectacular venue for these girls (Ladies), like your own, personal concert, though Ale and Dany need more room to roam! Funny, seeing this back to back, is what I had been hoping for in Two for Tuesday, for a while now. They have all been great, don't get me wrong, because you have paired up some terrific performances, but this song is special because it is an intense showcase for each one of them.....and now I'll have it in my head all day!

Yes! It´s Tuesday again. This one is like Survive in my absolute top of their songs. The outro is spectacular. And it was the first song where I first realized their Spanish influences. My understanding is that the first video from the cave was a live stream for the "De(Tour) online concert during the pandemic and included many bands including Halestorm. Their viewing of this performance led Halestorm to make contact with The Warning. This eventually led to their being an opening act for Halestorm after the pandemic.

This performance in the cave is my favorite one of Dull Knives. The sound is incredible. Really felt like I was in the room with them. Plus it was a flawless performance. That stop they did was perfect. Edit: that Teatro performance rocked too. Ale’s bass really comes through strong.

The De(Tour) performance was from an online event to raise money for small venues during the pandemic, which included many well know artists, including Lzzy Hale of Halestorm. After seeing them during this event, she contacted them, they spoke over over Zoom where she invited them to open for Halestorm's US tour and they also had a writing session with her. If I remember correctly they were the only act for which De(Tour) played their performance again. For the Teatro performance, I love it because of the opening with only the bass. I know some people will say they do this often, but I just never get tired of it, having always been a big fan of the bass and unfortunately having most bands bury it in the background, so with The Warning I am overcompensating for decades of being deprived. HEHE! 😉

"Always leave them wanting more." And they do. What I really appreciate is that the songs are short because that's how the band wants them, and not because some record or radio exec imposed a time limit. It's almost the reverse of the 70's album rock where the bands went long because FM AOR let them cut loose from the strict Top 40 format. I will say that The Warning songs are easy to repeat, where I wouldn't do that with something like Thick As A Brick.

Dull Knives has what I like to call lethal efficiency. Three minutes is all they need to deliver a potent musical statement. When it comes to the use of double kick, this song has what I'm talking about...it's used to serve the song vs. so many modern bands who use it exclusively. And is there anything more rock and roll than beating your kit like it owes you money while rocking a skirt? Let's not forget to mention Ale's bass line...pure thunder. Dany...what can we say other than what a rock star she is! She had to be born to it. Thank goodness for us that her sisters joined her in her dream.

Great “expected” reaction. I’ve seen both of these videos a few times and they never get old. Even in practice, they slay their songs just like they’re in front of an audience, like Dany pointing at the camera with conviction at the start of the song. Definitely hard to pick a favorite but Dany creates so much attraction with her voice, energy, great guitar and her emotional expressions when she sings and plays. They’re so good, they rarely play solos, but Dany can shred, Pau can is an animal and Ale has thunder in her hands.

Yes, they favor the short songs. No "2112" in the foreseeable future, but Dany said if it's too short for you, just cue it up again. And yes, I'm sure we all have our little favorite songs, but it's easier and simpler to just add them all to your playlist. And, I routinely vacillate between sisters for my favorite one. I agree with everything you said about Dany. She makes you feel every song she sings! Pau always makes me smile that my cheeks hurt afterwards. BUT, I’ve started looking at Ale closely because I recently saw a nice ‘treat’ from her. Every now and then, at a perfect moment in a song a slight sneer comes across her face very briefly! Blink, and you’ll miss it. I just saw it in Dull Knives. Yes!

Ale definitely has had the smirk for a long time. She also has a snarl in her upper lip kinda like Elvis used to do. That’s where the nickname Ale-vis came from (Ale and Elvis). I remember them giving Ale crap about that in one of their after show videos. All 3 seem to have their fair share of nicknames for each other. I’ve heard both Dany and Pau call Ale Alita as well during vlogs a couple different times trying to get a rise out of her.

@@northof4912 I suspect they were mutually amused at the whole scenario - from the tiny stage, to the over-produced lighting and cameras, to how incredibly extensive all the preparation was laid out for all three bands during the shoot... when the ladies were used to performing whole sets on a shoestring and very little time to prepare, and doing so very nearly flawlessly over and over again. Let's see - two songs in full, and snippets of the same songs again? Piece of cake; we've got this. They were all stressed out about this going in, and most definitely wanted to "bring their 'A' Game" to the table for sure... but then when the time came, it must have seemed to them to be almost childishly simple. They might have been surprised at how much trouble and re-takes the other groups had to do just to do this "easy" performance. I gather the whole experience was vaguely surreal to them, only to be eclipsed by the weirdness of the actual award show itself...

This video is very important for them. They played for an online concert (De tour) for the venue who was in difficulty during the pandemy and lzzy hale fromm halestorm who was also in this concert saw them and offered tto be part of a tour during summer 2022

The ending of this song is so good Pau's fills are insane while Ale's bass is booming. Dany's energy is so fun to watch especially the finger point in the cave. They added this song to the end of Dust to Dust in the Mexico shows and both those outros are crazy good Survive has another killer outro as well. Love Twofer Tuesdays thanks man. 🔥⚡

It is one of the shortest songs to their credit, and that is why they know that their fans love it and have always said that it is very short, so last year they have implemented an extended version of the song in their presentations, trying to renew in their shows.

As I recall (someone correct me if I’m wrong), the performance of Dull Knives in The Warning Cave is what Lzzy Hale saw and decided to take The Warning on Tour with Halestorm… She talks about seeing them perform from the side of the stage and telling her band, “We need to go practice!” And, of course, there is the Gibson Explorer that she gifted to Dany- All because of Dull Knives

Dull knives kind of reminds me of Pau - short but incredibly ferocious. Dany is probably best Rock lead singer currently on the circuit. Pau is Rock drummer of 2023 and if you dare go in the crowd near Ale her bass is thunderously loud setting tempo for band. I am Team - The Warning.

On a more superficial note, for the "Cave video", Dany usually wins for the Best Hair Award, but i love Ale super long locks on this one. Plus, this might be one of the only times she is wearing , what might be considered "typical rock & roll attire", and she is more animated than usual. Love her, love the band, one of my favorite songs.

I love the Error album but I always find myself going back to QOTMS. I even bought the vinyl. It’s a great record from three teenagers. Mind blowing really. They released 4 acoustic versions of songs from this album. Pau plays an electric drum pad. The songs are excellent and definitely showcase their wonderful vocals and harmonies and skills as musicians unplugged. THESE ARE MUST LISTENS. Thanks Rob. Always love your videos.

Well crap... I just reloaded this and found my comment got nuked (probably because I included a 'live' link).🙄 Anyway, here I go again... This song goes back a few years for sure. I still remember Pau smashing her fingers on one of the floor toms doing this song when they were opening for someone several years ago. She didn't break anything, but they were sore for a while.😜 I ran across a rare gem from them from about 6 years ago, where they were doing a 'preview' set for the Mother of All Rock Festival that was featuring everyone from Alice Cooper, to Def Leppard, to Buck Cherry, Aerosmith, and more. Some parts were pre-recorded, and some parts they played live clips themselves.😉 They did clips from Tesla, Vince Neil, Def Leppard, and Aerosmith. Pau actually sang lead on 'Walk this Way', and between that, and Dany's guitar work, it was pretty amazing! The audio quality isn't the greatest, so probably not that good for a reaction, but it's fun to listen to them tearing it up on some stuff besides their own music!😍 Here's a link to it..
