Buy the ones that come in a little bottle of the liquid, then just dump it on and spread it evenly. You get a nice thick coating and it fills In all the scratches and divots in your screen. Works great.

I am so glad I found this video. This is the 5th review I've watched for liquid-glass screen protectors and the only one so far that provided independent test results. I really appreciate all the work you did putting this video together. I didn't trust the CellHelmet video where they dropped a pinball on a phone since it was a video from the maker, so seeing an independent review is worth a lot. Seeing 16" compared to 10" is significant enough for me to buy this.

Hey Aaron, your videos are awesome. I wanted to add to this liquid screen protector thing, while I learned a lot from this video and it did change my mind on the protection they provide. The first time I used a product like this was on my new S10 and the back is also glass. I'm not one for bulky cases, so using this liquid on the back glass (seeing as they don't make "back glass protectors" lol) did very much help the scratches from normal ware that I noticed with previous phones. Just a side note pro that I haven't heard anyone mention yet. P.S. I don't think the factory (Samsung) protects the back glass the way they protect the factory screen.
@InMission6 жыл бұрын
Great, you answered my main questions: 1 - If the liquid screen is any good, is there anyway to remove in the future if get's damaged? According to your answered, that's enough for me to stay away' 2 - If it's worth it, if does provide a good enough protection. So, thank you, as I thought, not worth the risk and I'll stay away from it.

There's one more thing to try, which you didn't mention. Try applying a few layers of the liquid screen protector, one after another. Since you get a lot of this stuff i guess it wouldn't be a problem for anyone else who bought, and i still wonder if it would actually strenghten the screen enough to take drop damage, and maybe it would even make scratch resistance of the screen better :D

I can tell you from several years selling liquid glass products to customers as a phone rep, that i have only had 2 customers out of several hundred actually crack their screen with liquid glass. I have noticed small scratches diminish in size or even dissapear after application. But i never sell this to people with flat phones over screen protectors. For curved galaxy's and pixels etc. Its the only way to go, tempered is crap due to the curved edges. And the big selling point on liquid is the $100-250 warranty that comes with it. So even if it fails, they pay for repair.

@Storebrand_5 жыл бұрын
I think a better way to test the scratch resistance of these liquid glass products is to put them on surfaces that that aren't the same hardness as the product. I don't understand what type of results you expect to see when both the phone and screen protector have the same hardness. A better test would be to put the liquid glass on something much softer and see if the liquid glass can make it scratch resistant to levels it wasn't before.

The 9H has NOTHING to do with the Moh's hardness scale. It relates to the PENCIL SCALE of hardness and it just used as a marketing gimmick. Essentially, a pencil with 9H hardness lead, will not scratch the surface. So many people are led to believe that the 9H is on the Moh's scale, which is incorrect. Some car care products even call the product Moh's!! Scumbags.

Anyone have any experience using a glass screen protector on a curved screen? I have the galaxy S10 Plus and the guy at Verizon said I have to use a liquid screen protector because the curved screen will cause the screen protector to peel up on the edges no matter what. I don't want to spend $30 to find out he's right. Anyone know if that's right or wrong info? Thanks

I had one for my s7 edge and it was extremely hard to use the phone to type with. I also tried to use the OEM screen protector replacement that you can get on Samsung. Bubbled and peeled right off with my case (which was strange because the one came on my phone worked beautifully with it previously) i have one applied to my phone and despite some microscratches that you can't really see until direct light hits it. It works for me. I rather have microscratches than a screen protector that sacrifices touch sensitivity. It's the best option for curved screens. I see it as a build in warranty. I got a good case so I don't think i need to worry about it

A lot of people really misunderstand what oleophobic coatings actually do. For the most part what they actually improve is the simplicity/ease of wiping the screen clean of oil and sebum as opposed to actually stopping fingerprints from marking the screen.

You seem quite intelligent, and are very thorough with your reviews, but then I keep hearing you say this liquid is glass. This stuff is exactly the same thing as what car guys use these days as replacement for wax. A bottle that will cover an entire 2-3 cars can be had for 50 bucks and is usually labled under ceramic coating. Both are SiO2 and do the same things. The only difference seems to application since they tell you to wipe on and wipe off with ease, but with cars you have to let the product "flash" before u wipe. if you don't, it doesn't do anything. Maybe this is why you arent noticing the hydrophobic nature increase? Because when applied to car clearcoat it most definitely increases its hydrophobic nature.

I have the same phone, the only problem, is the screen has a slight curve making screen protector's not fitting well. Infact when I fist purchased it, with the company recommend screen protector. it didn't stick well and left spots unsealed on both mine and my wife's.and the manager at my local Verizon store told me that everyone was having the same problem. And to my understanding, more and more smartphones including Samsung, have a slight curvature in the glass. Making me look harder at using a liquid screen protector. I recently noticed nanotechnology screen protector for sale on Facebook. That claims to be 10h hardness? I don't know, maybe if you put a couple layers on, the liquid protector would be better. I know I have a glass screen protector on my phone right now and every time I've dropped it it shatters, leaving my screen protector looking horrible and less effective to the touch.

After being a several year user of these I do feel like SOME of them help some, but very few. The German made one that "protects against radiation" seems to be the best imo. I am ridiculously rough on phones so I always need to use a stupid heavy duty case as well. Honestly I wish Samsung still made the Galaxy S Active series. My thing is this: the idea that you cannot take the screen protector off is not, in my opinion, analogous to the idea that you can take the tempered glass off, so therefore: don't do it. This would assume that the tempered glass is impenetrable, hey just pull it off. I still think that for the drop protect alone, plus not adding bulk to the screen it is well worth it. People act like plastic screen protectors are somehow not without severe compromises themselves: they feel artificial, they scratch more easily: but we are supposed to give them a pass because they have been around longer. I am also not sure if your strip coating test did not add roughness to the overall screen: are we to assume that all you did was remove the coating and nothing else and by your own admission you stated that it "felt smoother." What I am saying is that I don't feel as if you gave the liquid screen protectors a fair assessment.
