On a sunny day the FSTN panel is far MORE visible than the OLED, since it is helped by ambient light. It's a little frustrating just how many reviewers claim that reflective/transflective displays are dim and therefore hard to see in bright environments. They are designed specifically to become more visible the brighter the environment and become super clear and sharp when you are outdoors on a sunny day. Basically the opposite of self illuminating displays like OLED, which become harder to read in brighter light.

Actually it packs an in-house tweaked version of the standard QC 4100 that they call "plus" but it is NOT the real QC 4100+... Mobvoi tries to misinform intentionally for marketing reasons... did the same two months ago with the Pro 3... good watch though...

I have never seen anywhere that mobvoi trying to missinform wherelse other people on KZbin speculating. Mobvoi does the opposite. On Amazon for example they have the comparison saying 4100 supports dual display and 4100+ doesnt.

You should have tested it outside instead of just say something that sounded informed but actually is misleading. Not worth the hype. Are you considering going from a fitness watch to a wear os? Think again. Cons: Battery life, 2,5 days with limited use. Constantly looking at the battery level. I use essential mode and switch to smart mode when needed. So I got a dumber watch than I had before. Switching to/from essential mode requires to reboot the watch. I got 7-8 days with my Honor magic watch 2. Smart features are not so useful on a watch, rather use the phone Wear OS lags. Not as smooth as my previous Honor magic watch 2. Google assistant doesn't work well. Thinking of returning the watch and try out the new Amazfit GTR 3. Watch freezes sometimes.

Yeah I'm an OG Ticwatch Pro owner. And it literally just crapped out. I really liked the watch. For one, it looked different than the majority of the smartwatches out there. The only real issues I had was the inaccurate GPS and occasional wonky UI happenings/glitches. I'm now deciding if I want to get the Ticwatch Pro 3/Ultra or a Garmin Venu 2. I really dislike how mundane the Venu 2 looks (pretty much looks like every other sw out there). But I've heard the GPS is top-notch. Also the battery lasts for roughly a week compared to roughly 3 days with the Ticwatch Pro 3/Ultra. Decisions, decisions...

You should do a follow up on this review - one year later - how Mobvoi lied to its customers and offered NO SUPPORT WHATSOEVER! Promising an upgrade to Wear os 3 before end 2022 - Not! Not ever a security update since 5 Oct 2021 (and they advertise to use google wallet)! My Pro 3 Ultra GPS will be the last product I ever buy from Mobvoi! And to rub salt in the wound there are rumors of the Pro 5 Ultra on it's way with Wear OS 3.....with a company supporting their customers like Mobvoi - not a chance!

Thiw watch went haywire afterthe Wear OS update. Now it doesnt sync with the phone on any apps, and doesnt have notifications when messages or calls come in. Was working finem, now its a standalone watch,

Useful review as thinking of buying Ticwatch 3 ultra. Any ideas if these now 100% run wear 3 in Jan 2023 (cannot find definitive answer). Also I play golf, so wondering if this supports GPS golf apps that show hole overview and distances to green wherever you are on the hole/course. Hi just got the watch , the touch screen worked on my first day, second day I could not get the touch screen to enable. COuld only activate functions by pressing the power button and then everything kicks in . Any ideas ? thanks

Wearing my TicWatch 3 P.U.G. (Pro Ultra GPS) right now and it has been... nearly great! I had a few errors during my first nine days. I was in the Essential Mode for over 18 hours and then switched over to Smart Mode and my step count went from 12,397 down to 2,416. I waited another hour, restarted the app, restarted the TicWatch, synchronized and then the same result. Nearly 10,000 steps lost. Has anyone else had this issue?

Can you tell me if the Ticwatch 3 ultra actually allows you to set the time when you go to bed.. so that if you do not get to sleep for say 2 hours it will track the fact that you have sleep issues, outside of the time you actually fall asleep.. its important that you can track these factors of why your not getting to sleep as soon as you should be because... this is a very important issue.. you can do this on the Galaxy 4, so I would recommend the Galaxy watch 4 if sleep tracking is important...can you do this on the Ticwatch 3 Ultra ..Thanks.. would be nice and important to see a video on sleep tracking.. an important to us who live in the modern-day world..

I wish this and most of the other Ultra reviews I have seen would really discuss that - how much of an upgrade on the Pro3 is the new Pro 3 Ultra? From what I can tell there isn’t a lot that’s different. Other than the slightly more attractive bezel, much less attractive watch band, nice range of 18 coloured backgrounds to the Essential Mode screen and a far from clear improvement to the processing speed or capacity of the watch due to Mobvoi’s own dual co-processor refinement to the Snapdragon 4100 chip (that, however, is the same chipset in both watches). Oh, also AF heart beat monitoring on the Ultra but not the standard Pro. Also, a slightly tougher watch glass or case? Performance-wise, my standard Pro 3 doesn’t really need any enhancing so the “dual co-processing” refinement wouldn’t be enough to get me to upgrade. What I would really like to see is much better battery life. I struggle to get 2 days in smart mode with my Pro 3 and that’s not with AOD or heavy fitness or GPS tracking. Does the Ultra offer any meaningful and noticeable battery life improvements over the Pro 3 doing the same tasks? All the blurb for the Ultra on that front simply repeats the standard Pro 3 battery life claims which suggests there’s no significant battery life improvement. The most striking thing for me about the Ultra - not a major drawback owing to the ease and cheapness with which you can fit new watch bands to it - is the downgrade in the look of the strap. I’m struggling to see how or why this upgrade warrants the moniker “Ultra”. May be “Plus” because of those colourful Essential Mode screens and the AF heart beat monitoring (even without the 4100+ chip) but hardly Ultra IMHO.

@@nigelhobden what’s your experience of battery life on the TW Pro 3? I am rather disappointed in it and surprised by those people who claim to get a solid three days with “full on” use of the watch. I struggle to do much better than two days - and that’s without excessive use of all its features or tracking. All of this said, I still very much like my TW Pro 3. I just wish it’s battery life was as good as my Garmin Vivoactive 4 or, to be fair, just always capable of giving me a full three days on constant smart use. No problems at all about its snappy speed or its looks. It’s a great Wear OS watch with for me just average Wear OS battery life. At least it’s in line for the OS 3 upgrade sometime next year :)
