Over the last 4 years i’ve also been working on ‘moby doc’, a unique and idiosyncratic film about my life, my activism, and my music. One of the goals in making ‘moby doc’ was to try and make an honest and unconventional music documentary unlike any other music documentary. And, presumptuously, I think we succeeded.. here is the official trailer.

My dad actually knew Moby before he was a big star. Here in Connecticut (where Moby is from), he used to work at a record store that my Dad regularly shopped at. A decade later, he's watching MST3k, and during a commercial break, "Hey, that's Moby!" (I don't think I was born yet, I just know this because my dad told me this story). Since then, I've become a huge fan. Strange, considering I'm more of a hard rocker, but I've always loved Moby. This film looks amazing and I cannot wait to see it. Moby, if you're reading this, I love you, man. You are amazing. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Strangely enough, I discovered Moby at my lowest and highest point in my life simultaneously. It cradled me when I was on the ground and it also picked me up. It’s strange to explain it. Now, I’m at a point where I can listen to his music and get only peace and joy of what I learned and how it made me grow.

Hey Moby, I'm not a hardcore fan but still a fan for a long while. I just want to say how special you and your music mean to me. I grew out of electronic, but I'll never grow out of you. A lot of my idols, Mr. Bowie, Mr. Reed, Mr. Zappa, are no longer with us anymore, and you're probably the only real one left. I used to be religious, but not anymore. In fact, I'm tired of religions. But I believe in whatever you believe in, because you're not just realer than any of them, you're also truly honest. Honesty, to me, is the most important thing in art. And you are one of the greatest artists ever. Love, Markie.

Moby I wish people knew what kind of special music you created for us, you were a big part of my life as I grew up and still you are a big part of my heart! As we get older definitely we forget how it was to have pure feelings of love and blissfulness and we keep living with an empty void inside us pretending we are still human and we still know somehow to love and live the moment. In all these lonely moments or every time that I am nostalgic about how beautiful life used to be when we were so young I just listen to your art and magically the world is a better place again and I can feel for once more. THANK YOU MOBY

It is as if all the happy children remain discreetly in their families, doing their little projects without any need for ambition or recognition, they remain invisible to the world, and that only the unhappy children who have accumulated the violence of their parents seek the light, express themselves publicly, etc. Moby is an unhappy child who opened his heart to those more unhappy than himself (non-human animals) but this is so rare.

I've lived half a century, grown up with Moby on the radio, playing in soundtracks in movies, feels like I've heard a lot of his Art. So yeah, I think I'm a fan, but... my life got in the way to let me dig in deeper into the actual Artist Moby and his life. But now in Year 2 of WFH (and Living from Home), I seem to have extra time to reflect on things that influenced my life. I would very much like to see this Documentary, to see how you, Moby, lived your Art during this time as well - looking forward to this, thanks!

Used to listen to Moby a lot when I was flying for school in early 00s -- to the point that "Play" my go-to zen zone for fighting these adolescent demons lol... Fast-forward to 2012, when I was visiting my school homie in LA after not seeing each other for a few years, we drove to Beverly Hills while just cruizin n totally laughing how adult life seeming so much fun ended up a completely opposite venture ahah... only to stumble upon Who Shot Rock'n'Roll gig there where Moby w his crew were giving it all there that night --> Spot On! helluva performance playing all these old songs live again n closing all these unclosed gestalts for me on another level, followed by mad crazy house session .... n now almost after 20 years, me being a completely a different person -- Moby again accompanies me to another stage of my life like always. Thanks, mate! It's been hell of the ride n still is!
