Love that Russell Howard can't help but read the autocue and laughs before the jokes are said
@ltcmdrstamets10 ай бұрын
There isn't an autocue for this. It's improv. Russell is laughing ahead of time because when you work in comedy you can usually see where the joke is going within the first couple seconds. He can't help but laugh early due to his insanely unmedicated ADHD. Source: I do the same to other comedians when at a club or open mic nights. I've got to consciously wait to laugh.

@@ghomerhustTo be fair, all of the ones that have been on this have sadly historically been pretty bad, but I don't put it down to their sex. The problem is that it's a feedback loop: there's only like one female on a week, which puts all of the pressure on them, so when they're either inevitably or by bad luck not very good, it makes everyone think that female comedians aren't very good. That then means that the show hires fewer (exacerbated by fewer women going into comedy for that reason), so the ones that are on have even more pressure etc.
@hollyeatsgravel5 ай бұрын
There are some great women on later seasons - Andi Osho, Zoe Lyons and Maisie Adam to name a few standouts that really understood the format - but I've always felt a bit bad for any comedian that has to try and make their way up through MTW compared to something like Taskmaster, especially if they don't have a talent for one-liners

This would be so much funnier without Russell Howard. He's so annoying. And unfunny. Its like he's aiming his jokes at teenagers, but he's missing the mark, and his get-down-with-the-youth outbursts just remind us he still hasn't grown up. He'd be better off doing gigs in a youth disco drinking cider, chatting up 16 year old girls (well, they say they're 16) , but never taking them back home to his parents house for fear of waking his Dad up, and to avoid having to give her money for a cab home.
