This is more true to all modern hot rods. Rarely do you see an old frame hotrod. Everything now is like what you’re building here. I can hear the excitement in you’re voice. So welcome back. I joined Ossum designs group. Prob can’t afford a body but he does nice work.

Oh yeah buddy. My new fave of yours. Keep the dualies. Perfect use for that chassis. Like it was meant to be. Looking forward to the rest of this build.

Nice work so far bud! Great to see a new build coming out of your shop. I dig that you are going back to the core roots of rat rods and building something wicked with what you have on hand.

As I watched this video, I spent most of it wondering if you could move the front diff and gears so they sit in front of the grill. At 17:27 it looks like you could flip that shaft so the pinion would be in front of the belt drive system. 4 wheel drive fully independent suspension with an outrunner motor like some of the others have suggested.

Really cool build. I like the length of the front end. For the motor, maybe one of those cool new Holmes Hobbies revolver motors. The outside spins. Looks cool.
@colossalbigfoot2565 жыл бұрын
So I looked those motors up. Why I read comments is to find interesting stuff. Thanks

This reminds me of the early rock crawler custom builds and look were thats at now.I forsee the day when custom rat rod builders kits may be available, at least I hope so.Until that happens I'll stay tuned to the trail blazers.Keep up the great builds and thanks for sharing.

It will be very interesting to see someone make a rusty f150 raptor in 30 years.

Lets see what you think of a idea , on the rear having a open ring and pinion , use thin plastic , which you probably have and make a cover and you can see the gears operating while no rocks or sand get in there and you can tell when the gears need lubrication without taking anything apart

Lookin good so far josh! I was thinkin air ride on the front n then u mentioned it lol. Youre wantin to take the front diff out but somethin would b missin. Wat about layin the air shocks down on either side? Theyd hide the cup holes n be down out of the way. Then do a canti-lever front...

Look into the Punisher motor, would look cool in an exposed setup. Blackwith punisher skulls on them. Sensored brushless.

Rc 4wd crawler motor it’s $10 where I found it and looks good to me and if your looking for more towards power and not speed sounds awesome
@Jason-fp8wn5 жыл бұрын
I dont know the full extent of your build plans but maybe a cowl steering set up might be fun and easier. Steering servo in the side of the cowl of the body with a link running out along the motor to the front axle instead of the servo in the grill. Great video!

Please use a holmes revolver or any outrunner motor the rotating can would be awesome

Leave the spur gear and that hub. Have it drive a chain or belt for say an oil pump or fuel pump. Something different. Or say super charger lol. Rat rod supposed to stand out n be different. Looks great.

Make 2 fake turbos and mount them on the front c-hubs so they will spin when it moving.

You might be better just getting a new sheet of CF. It would be one piece the entire length. Plus, it wouldn’t have unnecessary holes already or it. Try looking at McMaster Carr. It should be that expensive.

Off topic but not sure how influencer program works but from what I read it’s to be products you may use or suggest. I figured I’d find RC related but I didn’t see anything remotely close. Just so you know: using iOS 12.4 and followed link from KZbin app and opened link via Safari browser and also have an Amazon account I’m logged into.

Not sure what happened with that, I have added a fresh link and it seems to be working now. Thanks for the heads up!
