Check barrel alignment versus plunger. Could be bouncing around internally. Plunger could be leaking. Did you add lithium grease to the internal and all the metal components? Try different ammo types. Let me know if it improves, considering doing a similar mod to a Raptorstrike.

So I did talk to Bradley Philips a bit, he thinks it's a combination of the Work Springs being kind of weak sauce and the barrel not being tight enough. I have an idea to double the spring and see what happens (both the 18kg and 14kg it comes with) and using my 16KG Nerf Turf spring in the near future.

I had problems with the pusher o ring breaking/being flimsy. Replaced it with some super cheap auto ones and sealed perfectly!

I think a metal plunger rod would be heavier and not perform as high in velocity as the stock plastic one. It's also not a high stress part.

That becomes less of a mechanical engineering problem once you stick a large enough spring behind the aluminum plunger head. The spring itself accelerates the heavier mass of the plunger head, overcoming the mass/energy ratio required to move it. This is why I don't worry about having an extremely tight plunger gasket seal on my plunger tubes, the kind of spring loads I put in my blasters, overcome the coefficient of friction caused by the tighter gasket seal.

Man, if you could get your hands on a Remedy Metal Powertrain kit, that'd be the ultimate in rare blasters. Plus it would live up to the "Fullmetal" name a bit more. Those things are pricey and rare, however. I'm not even sure how many exist, given how quickly the company went under.

I would have cut the plastic tube shorter rather than grinding out the attachment point. Might hold the barrel off centre.

With all metal internals except for the plunger tube and trigger which can be remedied, you might want to upgrade the spring to a 20kg spring that will probably get you to 200 but I'm not sure about 250 and might have to reinforce the shell with a stronger spring not sure. Reinforcement parts for the longshot can be found on Etsy cheap. Check out Tiger Foam and Bradley Phillips Channels, they have some videos here and there on how they turned their longshots into snipers. Might give you some ideas. Hope this helps.

The problems are that buffer pad he installed incorrectly, and the short barrel length that worker gives you. That silicone pad is for the plunger head so it doesn't smack metal to metal against the bolt tube cap in the front of the plunger tube. The barrel length that comes with the kit is more than likely the same orange aluminum anodized barrel that comes with the retaliator/prophecy kit and is only 9.84" long. A 14-16 kg spring is about all you need to get 230-250 fps, with a good seal, out of that specific length of barrel. Increasing spring load past 16 kg isn't going to get you much of anything else in performance. An 18-20 kg spring load will need around 16 inches of barrel to properly utilize the air.

hi, just wanna say that in the video, before u close the shell back, your plunger tube is not sitting in the shell right. u will need to rotate it, such that the nub on the plunger tube is "pointing" into the work bench. there is a slot on the shell where it goes into, so that the plunger tube will be aligned with the breech and a proper seal can be achieved.

It's comparable defacement to what I did to a Crossbow when making The Morrigan. Pop it open, dremel out the old bits of ABS that block the new components, and close things up. Hell, I'll be defacing mine more because when I'm finished, she'll be green and black rather than purple and charcoal.

I noticed when you take screws out they just end up on the table. You can very easily lose screws that way, you can lower the chances of losing screws by just having a small bowl to put screws in.

I might’ve scrapped a yellow or blue (but not the blue elite) Longshot to test the fit of the components before cutting a red shell. Great vid, though. Looking forward to my own LS mod once the Omega kit ships.

From what I've seen, the worker kit doesn't take heavy spring loads as efficiently as the alpha kit or artifact hunter kit. The omega kit is coming out soon and should be a better replacement. I don't have any personal experience with these kits so this is just what I've seen.

I would double check to make sure it is a 18 kg spring, because i have an alpha kit and it has a 8 kg spring. so...

Walcom, not a you problem. The worker 18kg spring is terrible. Vs the Turf Blaster 18.5kg spring, the worker shoots on average 50fps less. It's just a terrible spring, dont beat yourself up! And yes, even the 16kg turf spring is better and will get u an average just over 250 :)

My Remedy metal Crimson LS and Hunter Kit Blue LS both hit over 200 and have a 14kg springload each. Make sure you get the headspacing right on the pusher kit and maybe even consider extending the barrel.

From what you showed us, it did not look like the dead space was filled in the plunger head. Also you did not cushion the plunger head or the neck into the plunger tube, and it looks like the O-ring for the plunger head is still in it's plastic baggie on your table at the end of the video. Also did you lube the internals to reduce friction?

I’m no physicist but doesn’t a metal bolt that is pretty hefty make it slower when firing, therefor reducing power? If the bolt was lighter wouldn’t it travel faster, forcing more air out onto the dart, or would it buckle under the intense spring load? I’m curious if the difference is even negligible. Edit: I really should say plunger rod but Fuzzy Man had referred it as the bolt in the whole video so

Oh, and lots of lube. That was my secret for putting together a Sketchy 180 FPS longshot. I used a spring off of an ace hardware garden hose that looks like it fit just perfect.

Put a longer, tighter barrel on your caliburn and it will shoot better. Also, get an artifact 27cm barrel and replace the worker barrel you have.

Use electrical tape and tighten the air seal in the plunger tube. Also where the plunger tube is sealed (the screwing rod thing) you could use some e tape probably. It's worth a try

I used a pump kit that required zero shell modification on my zombie strike long shot - I’d check with Chaylo to see if you could increase the seal where the barrel meets the magazine - doing a partial brass there? “Worker Mod F10555 Pump Kit 3D Printed No Cutting for Nerf LongShot Modify” - bet you could get two for review. Yeah, that's my next purchase. As for seal leaks, it isn't leaking anywhere. I'm thinking it has something to do with the spring and the fact that the barrel doesn't have a super tight fit on the dart. I'll be exploring it soon.

For context, my next review is on a Low-profile pump-grip for the Longshot...but it isn't going on this because it requires extensive shell cutting.

Again i must state these were built to be used not sit on a shelf. Granted i have the mentality that "if its built for use it better be used" i dont really care weather its rare or not. Like my white 1199, ~5200 1199's were solid in the US in 2013 and less then half of those were white, and not many more were imported before they stopped making white 1199's any you look up will probably have less then 10k miles on it, mine has over 31k, again its rarity has no meaning on me, kinda like my Mach 1 its rare, but has a billion miles on it, because theses machines were meant to be used not sit in a garage somewhere and stared at all day...
