Razer did not want me to open this keyboard. Not the box just the board itself. But you know me I have to take it apart I have to mod it and I have to make it better so let's do just that.
I also tried my best to answer any question you might have had from my last Razer Huntsman Video. I show off the Lubing Technique that I used. I demonstrate how to remove the swatch. I tested a purple switch in place of the red one. ETC.
If you have any more ideas that you would like me to try on this board please let me know.

Hi, i just watched the video and i want to get your opinion. Which one do you think would be better stock, the corsair k70 tkl or the huntsman v2 tkl? Im deciding on either one.
@greaterthanpie
@greaterthanpie 2 жыл бұрын
@@Just_somecarguy they are two different beast but I think the k70. The huntsman would have faster actuation but the K70 uses genuine cherry switches and it comes with speed reds. The only thing I would be worried about would be case ping.

@@erfanhemayati9338 if you take the keycaps off you can use a par of tweezers to remove the red rubber piece. They are not glued in so it's pretty simple

Also I didn’t have glue holding mine together, but there is a hidden screw under the sticker where the usb c plug goes into the on.

There was no glue, Underneath the usb C connector there is a small pad that you need to remove and take the small Phillip's screw out.. again not glue

So being as this vid turns up when searching for how to open this keyboard.... There's actually a hidden screw by the USB-C port, right infront of the port itself. It's underneath what looks _exactly_ like a piece of black plastic, but it's actually a sticker. The sticker is easy to remove and put back without causing damage. Just get a sharp blade under the edge and carefully peel it back. BTW both the Huntsman V2 TKL and the TE TKL have this hidden screw. So what you may have done here was rip off a part of plastic that the screw held in, then assumed the sticker was glue lol.

@@eessa2364 Hmm weird, in another teardown vid i can see what looks like the hidden screw hole in the same place as on my V2, but it seems to use glue on it instead. The vid is called "Unboxing the Razer Huntsman Tournament edition, plus teardown" and it's at the 11 mins 50 seconds mark. The guy just pulls it apart lol.

Thanks for showing. Where die you by the keycaps? and how is the Name of the brand and type of it? An Video of all possible fitting switches you now for the huntsman v2 tkl was cool. And if you show only online onscreen is it ok too. But i am not a pro in Keyboards, more a noob. Just wanne costumize my one in better lighting and a little colourful switches. Thanks and greetings

I have a question. I started customizing keyboards about a year ago and one thing I've noticed in these types of videos is no one seems to be worried about static discharge killing their board. No discharge bands or anti static mats that I've seen. So it makes me curious, since you definitely need them when working on PC's. Is it not needed when handling the PCB of a keyboard?
@greaterthanpie
@greaterthanpie 2 жыл бұрын
Truthfully, it's a bad habit that I've developed because of where I live. In Florida the humidity is so high that we rarely have issues with static electricity. Keyboards are a lot lower risk than motherboards and modern motherboards are a lot lower risk than older ones.

As an old unix junkie raised on IBM model M keyboards, I must say that I love this keyboard. The only thing that i dont like is the completely detached wrist pad which tends to slide off a bit when you write over a long period of time. Looking at the 4mm front facing profile of the keyboard, i was thinking: Are metal and magnetic pads a good idea to have a virtually invisible magnetic dock for the wrist pad?

Whats the point of single-switch stabilizers like that? it kinda looks like they just create more noise, without really stabilizing anything?
@greaterthanpie
@greaterthanpie Жыл бұрын
The huntsman optical switches are incredibly light weight and are not built in a way that they could prevent wobble. Razer had to come up with a solution to a problem created by this switch design
@chaosendures2096
@chaosendures2096 Жыл бұрын
@@greaterthanpie i bought the keyboard a while ago, getting into modding only recently - the keys wobble already a little bit, removing the stabilizers barely changes anything.. i thought maybe they stopped the key from twisting but it doesnt seem like it either... it could be so that the keys go down uniformly regardless of where the finger is situated on the keycaps, kinda like the stabilizers on the wider keys, but then why would those have single key stabilizers too? Ill try with and without stabilizers and report on the difference

I would recommend using rubbing alcohol to clean the switches that are acting up. Also it's safe to use on the PCB if there are any spots on it. Just give it plenty of time to dry before using it after you clean it
