I’m SO happy I happened upon your tutorial! I’ve been wondering about the Tunisian hooks with attached cords since I bought my first Tunisian hooks and I have bought several but still haven’t found “just the right one” for me! This was very helpful in helping me make my decision on giving them a try! Thank you again!!❤️👍🏼⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

i wonder if we could get a touch with knitpal and request 9 inch circulars alot of knitters use this size for socks, instead of knittng needle on the ends there are tunisian hooks and prolly get them in a set of 2.5 - 4mm
@ModeBespoke
@ModeBespoke 2 жыл бұрын
Hi! You totally can! Email them at: hello@KnitPal.com I have the 16” circulars, but don’t use them much, but I prefer the firm double-ended to the corded circular. Have you found the circular helpful for socks? I believe they are releasing short double-ended hooks for socks sometime soon, but I’m not sure when that will be exactly.

@@ModeBespoke I actually dont own a are pair of circular double ended hooks, I've found a magic loop technique here on youtube and did socks in the round that way but it turned out to be a pain in the butt 😂 there was yarn knots everywhere!

Amazing video and very informative !! I'm planning on investing in a set of interchangable knitting needles and want to pick up a few individual hooks from the same brand since I can use the same cables on those. Im guessing 6mm is a good starting size but what 3-4 other sizes would you recommend for general purpose projects ? Im thinking of going for bigger sizes but not sure if you recommend at least one smaller size
@ModeBespoke
@ModeBespoke 2 жыл бұрын
Glad you find it useful! 😊 🤔 It would depend on what types of yarns you like to use (I’m taking weight here), and what types of projects you like to crochet. If you want to crochet socks, a 3 mm is good. 4 or 4.5 is nice to have, and either a 7 or 8 mm hook is good. Those sizes generally cover a good range of projects and yarn weights, but that’s just based on what I normally use. Hope it helps!

Hi, thank you for sharing.... Can I use a Tunisian hook for regular crochet project?
@ModeBespoke

Hi! Yes, you can. Though depending on the cord length, it could get uncomfortable. But it is totally doable, especially if you don’t want to buy multiple sets of hooks.

I was looking at knitpal and cheaper ones of bamboo but I'm worried about all the bad reviews of snagging yarn etc. How have you knit pals been?
@ModeBespoke
@ModeBespoke 2 жыл бұрын
I’ve read quite a few of those too, but I haven’t had any issues. I just file that bit of the hook down if it snags and that solves the problem, but it’s a rare occurrence. With the exception of the red TC hook you might see in some videos, all of my other hooks are KnitPal. I quite like them.

I was given a hook that has a crochet hook on one end, a cord in the middle and a knitting needle end on the other end. Do you know what this is for?
@ModeBespoke
@ModeBespoke 3 жыл бұрын
I’ve seen something similar (but without the cord, just a hook/needle combo) and it was used for Portuguese Knitting. I’m not familiar with the technique, so I’m not much help there. 😅

I prefer a 3 mm or 4 mm double ended needle for socks ... that works and look fine. but you can also use a bigger size hook with the right yarn and less stitches for home- or wintersocks. you must know what you want to have at the end :D you can also double the yarn, or use the navajo technique to triple the normaly thin sockyarn. there are so many options to use a bigger needle with a nice pattern per projekt I think. etc pp look here pls : a pretty sock with letters and you only need to know the knit and reverse stitch kzbin.info/www/bejne/e2KymJ-Bdr9mms0 or only simple stitch socks : kzbin.info/www/bejne/hauZhqaQgtJrprc

@@ModeBespoke Guess what I found out, so am allergic to nickel and lead, so if the hook has that material it can also cause issues when you are holding the hook. I personally a funny odd feeling when I hold them, so I am going to try stainless steal if there is such a hook.

That's fascinating because I don't like bamboo hooks. I usually work with plastic hooks, especially for little projects but anything bigger I prefer metal 😄 But I also haven't done anything bigger than a bag so maybe that's it.

@geoffashden2
@geoffashden2 6 ай бұрын
You are obviously paid by 'Knit-Pal' to recommend these hooks. Any serious Tunisian crocheter will tell you that these are all rubbish! Fixed plastic cords are an absolute pain to use. It is best to invest in a decent set of hooks with detachable swivel cords. Having tried both cheap and expensive hooks believe me, once you have tried a brand such as 'Lantern Moon', or 'ChiaoGoo' the difference is astounding, the former being my favourite!
@ModeBespoke
@ModeBespoke 6 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for the recommendation! 😊 And no, I am not paid by KnitPal. I quite like their hooks. Are you paid by the two companies you recommended? Probably not, but you like their product so you recommend it.
@youkokun

I like fixed cords so I have less to keep track of and don't have to worry about damaged swivels on either the cord or hook.
