Chris does an OUTSTANDING job explaining installation. Well done. The only helpful hint I might offer (just completed installation) is to make sure that all of the nuts a FINGER TIGHTENED before connecting to the frame of the truck. I needed to push the parts together using a hammer and a block of wood in the wheel well so that the frame bolts lined up correctly with the truck frame. In fact, I suggest finger tighten and then 1/2 turn loose. Install took four hours including reassembling spare, heat shields and exhaust hangers removed prior to install. 2021 Chevy 3500 Duramax.

I just finished installing it. But the top heat shield doesn’t fit no more. The side one does.

Are those the same meassurement fot the 2012 chevy hd short bed to make the hole?

The Turnoverball hitch components, hardware, and hole location will depend on your truck's make, model, and year.
