Thanks as always Greg. Those figures sold themselves as soon as I saw them, couldn’t find that set as a 5 anywhere, perhaps too early so soon after their release. But lucky to get them as individuals & then they were low in stock. A week later, unavailable again anywhere😒 Cheers bud👍

Always love your updates, Simon. The figures look very well detailed, just what you expect from Stalingrad and once built up look great. I agree with you, I think the 20mm will look better off the limber and having some sandbags etc. around it. This is shaping up to be one of your best and really looking forwards to see it being built and finished.

My problem with that is why have a flack gun in a built up area? Dosen't seme to be the place you would mount it.

Thank you Mark for that. Enjoyed planning this one using those excellent figures. That 5 figure set is really smart, & just a wanted to add a few more to create a story, & for a change using just the one manufacturer. I think having the 20mm position there gives the young lads a particular reason to be there 😊

Exciting new project which will be eagerly awaited in due course. Great concept, buildings and figures which will no doubt tell another emotive story. Agree with others' sentiments re the flak gun will look better off the limber.

Morning Simon, just a quick thought, the flack gun looks a bit out of place. Dosen't seem to fit in an enclosed area. But if it been abandoned as damaged, or the crew were trying to repair when overun?

Hey mate, the thought was is that it’s covering the street opposite, with the barricade blocking the other. I could put it more in the middle but wanted the fountain or something similar there. I’m going to build it up with sandbags to make it more defensive…the crew being the young lads. Thanks for the feedback 🙂👍

I'm coming to the conclusion Simon's dioramas are 3d photographs, and like all good photographs, everyone tells a story. This one is already developing its story.

Good Lord, the budget for ur dioramas is impressive. But for me resin figures are damn overpriced. I'd rather build a nice tank model for that price.

Hi, yeah admittedly the figures are expensive, something I wouldn’t have even entertained when I first started modelling. But the 2 buildings were sent to me & the rest is all pretty minimal & can be used on other projects too. I do love Stalingrad figures as the detailing & poses are excellent, but I agree they are pricey…😕👍

Firstly because I’ve over 20 dioramas now, and I’m running out of space, need to reuse some of the older ones. Second because those older models aren’t really the standard I am right now - with the figures, weathering, finishing etc… and so can be recycled & used to improve upon. Lastly, using used models again saves a few pounds…😁😁💰 Thanks for the comment!

I suggest that the anti-aircraft gun damage the barrel - cut it off in half and make two stripes - as if the barrel was torn apart when fired. well, or remove one wheel - then it’s not possible to shoot from it accurately. That is why the soldiers surrendered.

Or, more likley, the kid's had just had enough. Simon and I are both from Jersey Channel Islands. 1940 to 1945 Occupied by the NAZIS, . Many Russian POW's were shipped to the Island's as forced labour, many did not survive.

@@51WCDodge there can be many reasons for surrender, the viewer will notice visual damage to the gun, what thoughts he will have about the reason for the surrender, of course I will not know.

There could be a number of reasons the boys surrender, I’m not going to damage the flak though, but just leave it,. For me they gave up as it was all a lost cause & rather surrender than be killed….. Obviously in history many fought though to the bitter end 😕
