What a wonderful diorama and project. Incredibly well thought out. I love all the little touches like the scratched date in the box and the poppys.
@BarbarossamodelsАй бұрын
Thanks so much☺️ Really enjoyable project to do, I’d seen the ‘poppy thing’ done on a similar diorama but was a bit worried on trying to make them myself. The date in the box was an eleventh hour idea but helped with a time & a place for it. Thanks again for commenting 👍

Fella, that is got to be one of the most original dios I've seen in a good number of years. I would never have thought of using a book and then to make the base cover like that of a shell box, the leaves as well bring your leaf scatter back from the fields the battle took place in is a very nice touch. The Germans called the first Battle of Ypres Erste Flandernschlacht, as iis a German trench dio that would have been a nice touch as well... Maybe the name plate in the future. Very nice build...

Hi, thank you so much! Thanks for the feedback, I made a similar book WW1 diorama a few years ago & always had the intention to try another. Really happy with how it turned out, especially as you mentioned the shell box☺️ Thanks again, appreciated 👍

It is a good idea, but destroying a book - whatever the purpose - is a no-go. Only nazis and braindead fanatics destroy books. Other people should respect knowledge and the work of the author. I`m not judging you, just saying that I wouldnt do it and why.

What an incredible diorama you did there. Very detailed and informative. The actual leaves form the battle grounds is the icing on the cake. Well done Sir.

YOU modeled the Germans in WW1 ??? slippery slide to using German troops in bolt action ??? next step, you will be saying D-DAY was not to stop the persecution of the Europium Jewish people and the establishment of a Jewish state in the middle east ??? then a diorama with David Ervin kissing literal Hitler ? people like you are wot the ADL warned us about !!! i can not understand, why you would release this Anti-Semitic and vile content on remembrance day !!! please read :- Germany Must Perish!: In 1941, Theodore N. Kaufman, a Jewish American writer, published a book titled “Germany Must Perish!” Kaufman advocated for the forced mass-sterilization of all German men under 65 and the sterilization of most German women under 45. He believed this would eliminate “inbred Germanism” and solve humanity’s problems. The book proposed territorial dismemberment of Germany, aiming to achieve world peace.

Absolutely stunning depiction of the horror of trench warfare so brilliantly done in this book diorama. A poignant depiction of a bloody battle that cost so many young men's lives.
@BarbarossamodelsАй бұрын
Thank you Robbo, really fun project, particularly being fortunate enough to visit some of the sites😔 Hard to believe that all that expanse of lovely rolling countryside & those little towns nowadays, were destroyed & turned into a sea of mud all those years ago. Very sobering…. Thanks as always for commenting 🙂👍

@@Barbarossamodels Did you see the Menin Gate Last Post? That is something anyone with an interest in the Great War should see. The other thing is the Forget Me Not. That flower , the blue of the French Belgium Poliu's coat. That's their remeberance flower
@BarbarossamodelsАй бұрын
@51WCDodge we went to the Menin Gate ceremony the first night, it was packed with people! Unfortunately the whole gate was closed off through the centre, covered with like a huge tarpaulin/cover as they were doing restoration work on it. So we never saw the inside walls & archway😕 But it was still an amazing experience to witness😔

A trench gun-turret? This sounds crafty and handy, in that context. That feels like a mobile, tiny version of some gun turrets from German fortresses around Strasbourg or Metz.

@@Barbarossamodels Fair enough. As a book lover and history enthusiast, though... the gutting of a perfectly fine book made me wince a bit.😅 At least, it's not a collectible book (not rare) and the modification is well-made.
@Barbarossamodels3 ай бұрын
100% agree about the book, I made sure my son was so careful with his books when he was very young😏 That’s why I bought the second book from Amazon to use for this, & not my original copy I’d bought in Ypres. The book itself was so good I had to keep a copy to read through & the Amazon version was less than half the price I’d paid in Belgium. Didn’t feel so bad for chopping it up after that…😁👍
