I haven't tried the 1200 but I use the 1000 & it's excellent I use it to fill seam lines too by hand brushing it along the seam quite thick & sanding it smooth after it's dry

What kind of paint that we can use afterwards, to paint on resin or plastic? Can we use acrylic paint?

Sorry for late reply, you can use any paint over this product once completely dry.

Any idea why the styrene got wrinkled after spraying a few layers of 1200 Mr Surfacer and after 24 hours another thin layers of lacquer paint? I have painted a car kit model, the main body came out good but the hood got wrinkled really bad. After striping down the paint I noticed that the styrene got melted into wrinkles not only the paint

Can you fill gaps by the surfacer

Hi Alan, you mentioned using a .5mm needle. Do you recommend this for all Mr Hobby Color lacquer paints?

I recommend all painting and base coating with 0.5mm. With time you can even learn how to shade and do fine lines with it. The larger opening makes maintenance and flushing so much easier yet you do not have to have the trigger rocked back all the time. Give it a go and see what you think.

I use automotive or industrial lacquer thinner. You will learn more about how I spray and maintain my airbrush in my honing your airbrush skills videos and play list.

Hello, the texture of dissolved putty is silky with a high tension thick velocity. This product skins and dries quickly. It is very hard to judge as a surfacer grit as the product is amazing at covering imperfection yet impossible to cover a large area like paint evenly. What I can tell you is it will fix scratches and holes deeper then what Mr. Surfacer 500 can.

Mokonaman Thanks for the video . Would you prefer tamiya surface primer or mr surfacer? Tamiya was a bit thick and difficult to use to fill deeper grooves like seam lines. Also if I may ask an unrelated question about mr super clear or Gaia clear coat, do you think it’s a better value to purchase a spray can or a paint jar of the coat and thin as you do with my surfacer? Thx

Hello Misheru, your very welcome. My preference is Tamiya due to how smooth and well it mirco fills fine scratches and other issues yet it does not sit on resin nor is use full for ultra fine detailed surfaces, Mr. Surfacer 1000 is good for resin and 1500 for fine figures and detail. Unrelated questions are also no issue. a jar of product is always cheaper then rattle can were I live due to size and weight. Shipping is a factor and increases the cost up to 5 fold from the original Japanese RRP.

What type of thinner? That shit clogged up my airbrush

Lacquer thinner and make sure to mix in a container before adding to your airbrush. Pre mixing a large batch then adding a ball bearing for mixing has never caused a clog for me to date.

It's not a commonly stocked item near me but is on the agenda to test. How ever I am more keen on tracking down and trying the gaia note one. That would be smooth and bites deep as it gets..
