I've been away from model building for decades. A lot of things have changed as far as products. Your channe is a great resource. Thank you.

Just what my old P-38 model needs. I'll order some of I can't find some. My kit had a horrible fit. Building it for a 100 yr old WW2 vet. He worked on P-38s.

You’re correct, those jars get really messy. Last night I walked into my hobby room and 2 bottles of Mr Surfacer were smearing each other and the workbench! How dare they? I scolded them then I wiped the rim of the jars with a paper towel , just as I did the last time I used them. So just keep an eye on those jars and don’t be afraid to yell at them for making a mess of themselves. Good luck!

I have a quick question to the Mr. Surfacer experts out there; I have never used this product, but I did get a bottle of Mr. Surfacer 1000 and I would like to use it eventually. Am I to think that this is only to be applied by brush, or do people shoot this with an airbrush as well? Albeit thinned with lacquer thinner or acetone? From the video, I see it can be hard on paintbrushes so I can only think it would be rough on airbrushes too.

Yeah it can be sprayed via an airbrush mate, turns out to be a great primer

Is there any difference between the different grades...ie could I get a hold of the 500 and dilute it to mimic the 1500? Or are the particles coarser in the 500 than the 1500? I hope I make sense...
@orangelion032 жыл бұрын
Yes, the 500 is coarser than 1000, etc. 500 will fill wider gaps and will build up thicker with subsequent applications. I have not noticed that 500 looks grainier affter sanding and you cant tell under a coat of primer. Stuff is great for sink marks.

Gunze are top noch products..Be aware though.. Those primers/surfacers have very strong chemical smell...Just open the lid..Toxic halocaust haha ...Especialy when you airbrush them the respirator is mandatory...
