CITIES has developed tools for short term (probabilistic) forecasting and control of integrated energy systems with flexible geographic scope. At CITIES final conference Professor John Bagterp Jørgensen talked about the software solutions for predictive control (MPC). The technology is based on stochastic differential equations (SDEs)

CITIES - Centre for IT-Intelligent Energy Systems - is a strategic research project funded by Innovation Fund Denmark with a project runtime from 2014 to 2020. The research in CITIES has focused on methodologies and solutions/tools for smart energy systems to facilitate the green transition to a fossil-free energy system by intelligent use of data; ‘green digitalization’. CITIES continues from 2021 as ‘CITIES Centre’ to collect and share knowledge about digitalization, flexibility, and sector coupling.
