Model railroading dangers: zinc pest

I have not yet had this on any of my trains only in a parts lot o got a chassis with zinc rot,

@lukesvintagetrains5495 yup its common with old kadee and Varney stuff, smt had a really bad case where the chassis just Disintegrated, best case something not important breaks off, worse case the chassis and body will Crack and break
