Dean Park Model Railway

The new Accurascale PFA Container Flat has been absent from the Model railway ranges up until now! Thanks to Accurascale we now have a brand new highly detailed 00 Gauge version. Is it any good? Does it live up to Accurascale's usual standards? Join me as I put this wagon 'In The Spotlight'. Please rate and share this video, give me your feedback and subscribe to the Dean Park Channel. Also follow me on Facebook and Instagram by searching for Dean Park Station.

Great to see smaller manufacturers doing well putting out top notch models. I can see myself spending a lot on their models, and that's before considering a Deltic and a couple of 37s!

Those Accurascale guys really know how to produce. Those look great to me. (I'm no expert by far) but really impressive. Nice video. :)

Saw these in British Fuel red on Hornbys layout at Basingstoke Model Rail Show. Whilst I didn’t get a good look up close they did appear very good!

More quality output from Accurascale. With the flat car detail they look just as good without the container imo. A quick trawl through Google image, expecting them to be very dirty in real life, and it appears they were kept in good order, so minimal weathering required (if you wish). Cheers

Looks great, but needs a bit of weathering. Need sunglasses for them, the attention to detail is amazing like your layout. Do the hunt couples work on freight wagons, only seen them used on passenger stock. Or is it something their going to introduce. If they shut the schools, you might finish the layout this year lol. Keep up the good work

Hi there. I was very impressed with the Hunt couplers from the off. I have very little passenger stock and have started to fit them to my freight wagons. I have only done a handful so far (many many many more to go!) but I can report they are easy to fit and use and the older the wagon, the bigger the tension lock they replace and therefore improve the gap. Hope this helps. Cheers - not THE Dave, but another Dave! ;-)

Too modern for me, however, they exude the high quality we've come to expect. I'm well chuffed with my HOP 24's.

Them wagons look the nuts mind dont they, I'm sure I seen a few of those get dragged round the North East a few times normally by 37s and 56s. Does this mean if your getting wagons a fiddle yard akin to Millerhill may spring up on the layout(dives for cover laughing)Which by the way is looking better with every viewing. Please give the 47 a bit more of a thrashing too. Had some good 47s and 47/7s giving it beans outta Waverley in days gone by. Thank you for sharing again Dsve.

Certainly a great looking product. To make a respectable rake on your layout how many units do you think you would need, My guess is that a minimum of 12 would be required. Have you any idea how many of these would have made up a train in real life. Great video as usual. Cheers Greg

You will need a lot of cash to make up a full rake I remember these running with a class 56 hauling 30. I would suggest 15 as it is a half set which is what I have done for my MGR train and it still looks impressively long

They look good Dave. Will you try the Hunt couplers on them I saw the class 27 looking like it was about to part company with them
@DeanPark
@DeanPark 4 жыл бұрын
cedarcam that’s due to the saggy couplers in Heljan locos! But to be fair they never separated. The new hunt system for wagons might appear soon so will try them then.
@cedarcam
@cedarcam 4 жыл бұрын
Yes I think Hejan are the worst ones for that. One reason I decided to change them. Being shorter the ones I use now and hopefully the Hunt ones will be a lot better. Look forward to seeing your trial

Why don’t all couplers have a standard hight. What’s the wagons usual rake size formations .
