Before Kenes passed from Covid Dimash spoke about him in an interview of how grateful he was that Kenes was his composition professor at university. The interviewer recalled that Kenes could be gruff and people were always a little nervous of him but Dimash replied that they would sit and drink tea together and for him, it was like being with his grandfather.

The song that was suggested to you is called Qaragym Aì (or Appel of My Eye) was written by Kenes Duisekeyev many years ago. The lyrics are from a Kazakh poet who dedicated this song to his daughter who was getting married. He wanted to express his concern and feelings about what his daughter's future might hold. He asked Kenes Duisekeyev to compose the music to this poem. While he was writing the music Kenes recalled his sister who hadn't had the chance to get married because she died in the age of 19. This special performance has a sad occasion. The composer of this song was also a teacher of Dimash and he died from Covid in 2020. Dimash was devastated. He sang this song in memory of Kenes Duisekeyev. The pain Dimash shows is literally palpable. It hurts so much to see him like this😥. But it’s my favorit video❤️ Greetings and love from Germany👋❤️

If this song makes you to want to cry from the beggining, It doesn't mean there's something wrong in you. Just the opposite, it means you have a gorgeous and sensitive heart. This world needs more men feeling like you do. Thanks for being beautiful outside and inside 🥰🌹

Dimash is a very emotive singer & manages to put the emotion into everything he sings. Somebody once said of Dimash that he instinctively knows how a song should be sung & that is a very true statement. Of course, he sings happy songs & fun songs, but his strength, besides his beautiful voice, are the songs conveying true emotions. He must be an old soul, because from a young age he has been able to pour emotions into songs that are written with feeling, be it love, loss or heartbreak, he nails it every time. Thanks for another great reaction 😊🙏💞

The story of this song is even more complex. First there was the poem written by a famous kazakh poet to his daughter who got married. He is sad and worried because she has to leave her family and become the daughter of an other family. Then Dimashs teacher took that poem and composed a song with it. He dedicated the song to his sister who had died early and to his father who had also already died. Now the song was about a father who mourns his daughter who had died before she could get married. Then Dimashs teacher died and Dimash sang the song in memory of his teacher and all those people the song is about. Dimash had sung this song once before when he was much younger and his teacher still alive. The teacher didn t want Dimash to sing this because he was too young to understand the emotions of it. So Dimash sang it to his teacher to prove that he can do it and the teacher was deeply moved by the performance. He later said that he could not understand how such a young person could feel all those emotions that he could not possibly know about as he was so young. Well that s Dimash. I personally love the old version best.

I recognized this as soon as it began, that it was about his loved teacher/mentor who died during covid. He is very close and has such immense respect for all his teachers, and his dear friend was playing the piano for this. I am in a mourning period because my sister-in-law passed away in October from a condition she just couldn't beat. I am worried about my brother. Please say some prayers or send kind thoughts his way. Thank you. And congratulations on hitting that important 1K sub mark!!! So happy for you!!! Dimash wanted to perform this song when he was quite young. He asked permission from the author creator, the gentle man in the picture of where Dimash is performing. The young Dimash was asking for his permission. But the gentleman, did not believe that Dimash cud really express the emotions of the story of the song because he was too young. Rftr discussion the man said to Dimash, that he needed to hear him sing the song to him, b4 he could decide, ( so he could judge if Dimash cud express the emotions of it.) So that happened, the man was shocked and thrilled by Dimash's performance and gave Dimash permission, and after his performance in his concert, stood up and gave Dimash a stamdi ovation. From that point they became good friends and the man a professor, became one of Dimash's teachers. His proffesor caught covid, and died. He asked Dimash to sing this song for him after dying,. Hence this performance of this song in loving memory of his friend and teacher. Hence the pallpapal deep emotion in this incredible and difficult performance. Makes me cry every time I hear it. So glad u played it. Thanks. Ps. Can u please raise the video of yourself off the bottom of your screen so that we too can read the text. Cheers!! Great review!!!

👉 ... and again a completely different version of this wonderful song ... brilliant and so touching. The 60th Qazaqconcert 2020 (TV broadcast) was also used for a memorial ceremony for the people who died of Covid-19. Dimash sang this song for his professor and mentor Kenes Duisekeev (photo), the composer of this beautiful melody. He recently passed away from Covid-19 in 2020. Sariev wrote the poem Qaraǵym-aı/ Apple of My Eye (*Term in a parent-child relationship, here, father-daughter*) for his daughter, who got married and left the house and the village. He wondered what her life would be like and wished her a life full of love. Life is short and without love it would be sad and empty. Kenes Duisekeev, the composer of this beautiful tune, was Dimash's teacher and mentor. He died of Covid-19 in 2020. When Kenes Duisekeev set the words of Kazakh poet Shomishbay Sariev to music and composed this tune, he was remembering his sister (one of 13 brothers) who died at the age of 19 before she could marry. * When Dimash sang this song for the first time in 2016 for the composer's 70th birthday, he interpreted it completely differently and the composer Kenes Duisekeev was overwhelmed.
