Congratulations on your new car, it looks very nice. And I do understand your choice to sell it, so you can pay off your loan, get a license for wife, and a small second hand car for her. According to tax, I can understand the government will see it as a kind of work income (you have done some sort of indirect "promotion", and been paid a car worth a million NOK). But then the government should also accept that you have expenses doing your "promotion work" in your current car, and that you should be able to deduct those expenses (like car insurance, service, repairs, filming equipment etc.). And finally, thanks for making great content. You are the best EV tester on youtube.

It's finally here! I'm sure it's tough to let it go and not be able to enjoy it, but it's the only choice that makes sense, so good on you!! Selling the X would just not cut it, having to pay 300k in taxes on this Model S and another 260k to your mom. With 200000km on the odometer and a noisy motor when the car is not on low suspension it probably wouldn't sell for more than 500-550k. Good on you for making the smart choice! Can't wait for the Roadsters...

What is left after paying income tax and selling tax? You pay basically double if you sell the new car. If you sell Optimus, you don't need to pay that much tax and you can keep a brand new car.

If you want to sell it with that I would advice to get it this week before the price rise at March 18th, it will put the value of the car a bit higher I think. Cheers!

Couple of thoughts on this whole video... 1) I really liked the referral programme but I think it got out of hand. Honestly giving away that many roadsters has killed the programme. It would have been better to keep it how it was at the start where one person from each region has the chance to win one. So a total of 3 can be won. You'd still get a very similar amount of exposure but the programme could have been kept on for everyone... meaning people get the chance to win a free wall charger or whatever. People who do the big channels deserve rewards, Bjørn in particular, but that many 200k cars is insane. 2) The recent price drops are great long term... more electric cars... but it's seriously messed up that Tesla pretty much overnight massively decreased the value of all existing cars. Like this P100D lost 20% of it's value by simply existing (no miles). Like I said, great long term but it stings for current owners. This plus the erratic autopilot pricing, sales structure and poor service just all adds up to a company that needs to sort itself out. I LOVE my car but I worry that things are still so messy. Model 3 is only going to strain service more! Full disclosure: I have a '18 Model S and referred 1 person for a wall connector. Not really active online about Tesla but Bjørn seriously helped inform and persuade me to get a Tesla.

As much as I love my P3D, the rear quarter design of the model S nailed it. From most angles the P3D is fantastic looking, but it would look a lot cleaner with more of a dove tail, and less of a duck tail. I should add though, I hate the McLaren Speedtail, I think it is the all-time ugliest McLaren (I mention this, because too much dove-tail is equally if not worse looking compared to the stubby rear quarter of the 3 or the X).

Bjorn Nyland. Let me ask you please about this thing. Are you aware about MCU eMMC flashdrive problem which becomes filled through the usage as long as the years passed (4-5 years depends). Do you know if the Tesla released any software update to mitigate the problem? As far as I can know, eMMC is really a bad choice because it doesn’t last long with a continuos write in it (SLC drive should be the best solution) or a command to dumping it or writte in a RAM, because the technician doesn’t need the logging’s entry.

actually Tesla has one available for the fixed glass roof available on the online store, released a few months ago. 7:10 they use graphite, it's not just a chrome to matte finish

$3000 for a drivers license? For wifey who already perfectly knows how to drive, even on the wrong side of the road in Thailand :) And I am complaining about the ridiculous prices, taxes and fees here in California. This should be a $30 fee for the 10 minute driver test, and that is it. Great video. Love the new Model S :)

For folks from outside the EU, a full driving course(theory+practical sessions) is mandatory and then the theory test+road test. Eventhough she has a license from another country, she has to start from foundation. And this whole process costs around 3k to 3.5k USD. I failed the test twice, so my total expenses were 6.5k USD
