The most satysfying part of building a model. And all of this rigging works and can be used like in real life.

Impeccable technique, inspiring and motivating!! Are you going to exhibit this magnificent Carrack at the 40th Annual and film the whole event? I hope so! P.S. I went to the bakery this week and tasted a new pastry: Nalysnyky... )))

Great work and skills. One question, which ropes do you use (especially tiny one) cause this ropes what u use are not Maristella ropes ? Monitoring this from begining and looking forward to final video 👏👏
@OlhaBatchvarov Жыл бұрын
Thank you very much! Yes, these are not the ropes from MariStella's kit! I make my own ropes, you can find video links in the description below this video!

Once again an amazing video ❤❤, I do have a question, I know these videos are done over a few days but how long do you let the Tung Oil dry before continuing with the process?
@OlhaBatchvarov Жыл бұрын
Thank you very much! At least one day. But since I work alternately on different models, it can dry for a week or two! You can speed up the process if it is not a glued part - put it on the radiator - I did it with yards. Overnight they dry completely and in the morning you can continue working...

Where did you learn the rigging layout for such an old ship?
@cajunrandy2143 Жыл бұрын
this is an excellent kit and expensive but rightly so- i assume it comes with complete and accurate rigging plan
@OlhaBatchvarov Жыл бұрын
My source of information for this model was Anderson's book: The Rigging of Ships in the days of the Spritsail Topmast (1600-1720)... I have it in my video library under number #065.
@OlhaBatchvarov Жыл бұрын
To be honest, the rigging plan in the kit is a complete disaster. Starting with wooden belaying pins, which appeared a century and a half later, wron blocks and ending with incorrect rigging (most from the 18th century). Yes, I don't know all the answers to these questions either, I closed my eyes to some mistakes, but what I found - I'm rerigging on this model!

Awesome work as always. If may ask what the type of knot at time stamp of 1 minute are you using?
@OlhaBatchvarov Жыл бұрын
This is a seizing. You can find the more detailed video about this in the cards on the top right ⓘ
@maxymvoloshyn Жыл бұрын
👍😉
@scottyshipbuilder Жыл бұрын
My seizing turns into a rats nest when I try to tighten the knot. What kind of thread are you using? All I have is cotton. Is that the problem? Maybe you’re using polyester thread? Your seizings tighten so smoothly after taking off your finger and no matter how many times I try, rats nest. 😢 Thanks Olha, love your work.
@OlhaBatchvarov Жыл бұрын
Yes, it doesn't work with cotton! I use a thin 100% polyester thread, Gutermann Terra 180
@scottyshipbuilder Жыл бұрын
@@OlhaBatchvarov I figured so and will be getting some before rigging the masts. All I had was cotton and being my first timber ship, I had no clue. I did my two gun’s rigging with the cotton but just used a few clove hitches for the seizing which was fiddly, took forever and did not look half as good as yours. Thanks for letting me know!

@@OlhaBatchvarov I can’t find any Tera 180 without really steep shipping charges from UK or AUS. Is there a US source for the Tera 180? Also, I can’t join your channel to get your tutorials. No join links shown in your profile. I would happily subscribe to your channel if I knew how. Thanks! ❤️
