In the late seventies our local model trains shop in Kassel, Germany have had such a setup, but the bottle was standing. Really cool yours as well. They have had a touch-switch on the front window of the shop and by holding the hand on the glas the train started to run for two minutes. Many child loved this. They must have cleaned the window twomtimes a day, 7 days a week.

Theres a national model railroad museum in Tn, and a Model railroad museum in San Diego as well. I'm sure either one would love to have this as part of their exhibit!

what do you do if you have a derailment in the bottle? How do you fix it up again?
@bottle-train36007 жыл бұрын
Thanks for all your comments :) Apologies for not responding to any of your posts earlier. Of course I can't reveal all the secrets about how I did it but it was built outside the bottle first, then cut into sections and re-assembled inside using modified surgical tools and some home made tools. Being patient, a steady hand and lots of late night hours were the main ingredients - pretty much a "once in a lifetime" project. Someone would have to come up with some serious amount of money to make me do it again.

No bottle cutter. Built OUTSIDE the bottle. The hole is as big as three fingers. I must of walked past the deli section because I smell balogna.

And why would I show anyone how I did it? Anyone could do it then!

I, too, would love to hear more about how you built it and got it assembled inside the bottle. In reference to what someone else commented, never mind soldering, hooking sectional track together and getting tiny card onto the track is hard enough in clear space that I don't even want to try it through the mouth of a bottle!

What happens when the train derails?
@bottle-train36006 жыл бұрын
Well.... that's part of the "anger control excersise" - throwing a hammer is not the solution. It takes a whole lot of patience and fiddling with tools to recover the wreck. In hindsight, building a tunnel was a really stupid idea! But I have retrieved the entire train from inside the tunnel a bunch of times. Cleaning the track is the worst. After a while there are "dead spots" where the locomotive gets no power.... Arrggghhh!!!

OK that's that ..... I'm giving up drinking .... I went to take a drink .... And somehow got in trouble with The NTSB , for derailing a train .

Yes impressive.... Im going to go one better. A model tramway in a bottle with working overhead. To quote Guilius how do you do that, c'mon just the soldering through the neck of the bottle would have been to say the least a challenge....

God forbid a derailment XD

But. But. But that's impossible!
@bottle-train36006 жыл бұрын
Not everything posted online is fake - this one really exists and I built it without cheating! Everything that's inside the bottle went thru the neck. It was a lot of work.
