Great video. One question: Are the water closet carriers plumbing fixtures or are they something else in Revit?
@mep_guy2 жыл бұрын
Definitely something else. I thought it was obvious what they are. I'll give you another guess lol.

Superb ! Could u tell in some details how to get 1st client as mep hvac engineer & which skills or project work do the clients look for most when trusting us in our approach..

Not sure I completely understand you question. But typically an architect will reach out to mep firms in their relative area and ask for a RFP (request for proposal). Then they choose the firm, based on their experience, price, reputation, etc. Many architects have a close relationship with a few MEP firms and use them on a project to project basis. To land your first client you'll just need to reach out the architects in your area and show them what you offer and your experience. I'm sure an architect could answer you question better.

@@mep_guy I mean can i work frm home with a laptop by using autocad, revit, ms excel for heat load calculations with designing & drafting is that enough ? Or any site visit or other issues are needed to be fixed ? Freelancing in our mep hvac field demands which things to be a top freelancer as beginner..

@@mep_guy I have 6 months of internship & experience of 2-3 projects of commercial hvac can i create a portfolio from it ? To start attracting potential clients online or with LinkedIn app ? Which steps would work in this case..

For new construction you don't need to make any site visits other than during the commissioning phase (after the project gets built). There are some engineers on upwork that do offer there services. If you have the experience then you could find work there.

I think you could get some drafting work, but to actually be the engineer you'll need to get a PE license before an architect would hire you to do design work. Start small doing some drafting for companies, then add some design, then hopefully you can work your way towards a license. You'll likely want to get a job at an actual MEP firm before you go off on your own. There is a lot to learn first! No need to rush it!

How about back to back water carrier?
@mep_guy2 жыл бұрын
I would create a similar fitting family but make it a cross type fitting. Didn't think about the back to back cases, but now that I've built this one, creating a new one is pretty simple.
