This is a sped-up version of a new midpoly stylized glowing flower speed modeling tutorial that covers full process of modeling (yet has no voice-over) and unwrapping this asset.

Place two instances of this model in a game engine and the engine will crash. That's too many polygons.

It depends on your goals, the engine and the game itself. And obviously the PC. If we are running the game on a computer from 90s, it will surely crash. Yet, using it multiple times on a modern PC will only result in a slight FPS drop. Back in 2005, what was considered low-poly might have tens, hundreds or few thousands of polygons. Today's "low poly" assets can push that limit to 80,000 or even 100,000 depending on the context. This flower, with its ~20k polygons, wouldn't be suitable for densely populating a vast landscape. However, it's perfect for individual placement as a quest item or an herb for gathering. While not ideal for massive outdoor scenes, low-poly assets like this flower are great for most indie projects that prioritize aesthetics over extreme optimization.

I'd also add that the range of 10,000 - 50,000 triangles is common for many low-poly assets, especially objects the player interacts with (our flower fits in this range perfectly), while some might still consider a range of 50-100k tris "low-poly" depending on the context (obviously it's pushing the limits for some platforms).
